    I worked at ADTRAN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    If this is your first job, go to "Cons" section
    If this is not your first job,
    1. Working here will teach you, that all your others jobs were far better
    2. It will teach you that even 0.5 % increment is OK
    3. It will teach you that you have so much potential, you can work for more than 8 hours a day and more than 5 days a week and still can have smile (fake smile)
    4. It will teach you all the elevation/performance review is show off, your increment is independent to your performance.
    5. Engineering managers can be technical and self-praising
    6. Your traffic can be monitored by the engineering manager (the one who runs the place), so don't use facebook or glassdoor

    Cons

    1. Your salary and position in previous job will not matter, they will pay you what they want (no standards follow)
    2. No bonuses, reason - company isn't doing good (I stayed there more than two years no yearly bonus)
    3. Engineering manager insults QA if they don't open bugs. He can go to the extend and write that in weekly update
    4. If you are employer and write review here, you will be intimidated (I was intimidated and threaten by not my manager but the engineering manager who runs the place)
    5. Engineering manager opens new accounts on glass door to write positive review about himself and company

    Advice to Management

    Heard it is falling apart now. You wasted my two years and talent, please please please don't do that to others. Treat employees like humans, and please let the QA be run by a QA manager and not engineering manager (that is partially why QA fails)

    Any average company would have

    Cons

    Bunch of red necks. Hire Co-ops to prevent less hiring full time(thereby pay nothing as compared to full-time). They will just keep you hanging in air. Co-op with some other company where they hire Co-ops for full time after graduation

    Advice to Management

    Don't keep candidates hanging for no reason. Be direct.

    Pros

    Large offices. Cafeteria is decent.

    Cons

    The company although being in technology and a high growth sector is very conservative in terms of its investment policy. Projects are undertaken and are pursued half heartedly. Has a small under funded engineering team spread too thin across multiple sectors. Management looks to spread its feet in every possible sector without adequate investment. Has outdated technology in several areas. Future isn't too bright based on the technology roadmap for the organization, already facing intense competition in several areas.

    Also if you move to Huntsville, remember this is the only telecom company for hundreds of miles. Better to rent than to buy property here. There is not much going on in HSV.

    Pros

    If a person is an Network Test/ develop engineer and looking for a job in Hyderabad?
    Its the only comanpy in Hyderabad which offers full-time job opportunities.

    Cons

    Management least bothers about the satisfaction of the employee.

    - Being part of the compay for many years, there is no career development programs conducted.
    -Being multi-national company there are no hikes for consecutive 3 years except for the high level employees.
    -Managers do not have great leadership qualities and positive attitude.
    -No proper documentation for the product which eventually lacks its quality.
    -High to low level politics make your feel astray.
    -No growth ladder to see oneself above a level.
    -Poor HR managment.
    -No Skip level meetings to address the issues.
    -Demoralising higher level management.
    -High expectations without any proper guidance or documentation.
    -To many meetings which only discusses the problems, but do not enact.

    Company lacks basic infrastucture for employees:

    1) Being installed in NCC building which is a construction company, it lacks the vibes of being a Software company.

    2) No bus facilities but cab is available only if there are 2 or more employees available in the same route. However, only 50% of the total cab fare is borne by the company.
    For example: cab fare is 30K
    company pays : 15K and the rest is borne by the employes.

    3) Cafeteria is untidy and snacks or foods are not available after 5PM wherein, employess who are staying back/forced to stay back have to order food from outside which makes a costly affair.
    4) Parking for 2 wheelers is a nightmare.
    5) Lab facilities are worse and if one places an order, it takes months to receive the same.
    6) No team building activites such as team outing, lunches etc.
    7) Spend most of their revenue on Heads who visit once in a while by cleaning the washrooms, renovating the meeting halls etc. Ofcourse they are GODS of their company.
    8) No GYM, recreation etc.
    9) HRs are not at all proactive which makes the environment very boring to work.

    The list goes on and on and on, which makes an employee disgrunted.

    Advice to Management

    -The higher management has to change their attitude.
    -HR needs to be for the low-level employees and address their concerns.
    -The attitude of keeping the higher management happy has to be reduced, and focus towards the subordinates should be improvised.
    -Make the environment employee friendly.

    I have been working at ADTRAN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Team Environment is good, observed frequent Travel to US

    Cons

    Recently i have joined in Adtran,, Hyderabad and met manager after 3 days because he is in travel for some time, he dont know what the team is doing, he said one thing in the interview and given another role. HR no words to tell, never seen before with any other company. till now i havent recieved appointment letter completed 4 months.

    Advice to Management

    US Team should focus

    Pros

    ADTRAN has a nice campus and nice facilities

    Cons

    ADTRAN has changed for the worse over the last 5-7 years. Politics and finger pointing is becoming more rampant. Management has an extreme lack of focus. Moral is on the decline, with many long time employees exiting the company.

    Advice to Management

    Bring back Mark Smith's management style and leadership.
