I have been working at AECOM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is generally plenty of work available for those who are able to complete tasks competently and within budgets. Straight overtime is greatly appreciated especially by staff with heavy field requirements. Large organization provides the possibility of transferring and working on a variety of projects. Strong compensation and benefits for the industry.

    Cons

Very limited mentorship structure. Without an advanced degree it is difficult to be allowed to work on more technical job tasks. Many entry-level employees face heavy travel requirements (>75%). Can be difficult to move between projects as offices are often 'silos'. Such a large organization that there is little staff cohesion or sense of teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Communicate openly and often with all staff members. Listen to your field staff's observations regarding client priorities in order to win additional work.

I have been working at AECOM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to perfect your skill set and gain a lot of experience. Management opportunities are available for those who are hard workers. AECOM University is a great resource to further your knowledge.

    Cons

Just another number. Need to really prove yourself in order to get a deserved raised. Nothing is a hand out.

    Advice to Management

Take interest in your employees and stay ahead of the game with paying your employees what they deserve. If you don't, they'll start looking elsewhere and you'll need to retrain someone all over again.
