    Pros

The company is very open with their employees and on top pf that the heath benefits are wonderful!! I also have enjoyed the full benefit of being able to buy company stock and having the company match at a higher rate than other stocks in my portfolio.

    Cons

I have worked for two of AECOM's operating companies over the last six years (EDAW and now ENSR) and the best by far is ENSR. The office operate seamlessly and share resources which makes doing your job MUCH easier.

    Advice to Management

Balancing out the salaries, I have been with the company for over three years and have over six total years of experience with a MS degree and there are new hires with little to no experience coming in making as much as I am or in some cases more than I make with less education.

    Pros

The people are great. Easy to work with, courteous and down to earth. Absolutely hated to leave--had to for family reasons.

    Cons

I only wish they would have made an office location in northern New England more available so I could have stayed with the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. AECOM is a great company and very good to their employees. I wish I could have stayed and look back with very fond memories. I only left due to family reasons. I would have gladly stayed if the situation would have been different. If you're looking for a great company with upward mobility and good strong work friends, AECOM and/or DMJM Harris is a great place to be!

    Pros

Peers and staff are first class
    Professional atmosphere
Management is fair and doing a teriffic job in a difficult economy
Free Bagles every Friday and Pizza lunch once a month

    Cons

Organization seems too complicated for the size of the local office. It seems there are many Managers but it is not clear who reports to who or why here are so many.

    Advice to Management

Would do well to streamline organizaton and provide more focus on project quality. Better quality will make it easier to get repeat work from our clients.

    Pros

Opportunities to work in several fields, opportunity for advancement, work/life balance. Flexibility to work over time and in some cases, work from home occasionally.

    Cons

Changes in line management happen often. Also, as with any consulting firm, you always have to be on top off the work you have coming in so that you can remain billable. But managers are very helpful finding staff work when needed.

    Pros

AECOM at the Warrenville office always had a steady flow of work.

    Cons

We were no longer given comp time when we were billable over 40 hours. Instead it was straight pay. I preferred the time off, personally.

    Advice to Management

The leadership is pretty good; however, some of the email correspondence from one of the secretaries was venty and passive aggressive. We were also required to do 15 minute monthly health and safety audits on coworkers while they performed duties in the office- which was awkward. Overall all, it was a good choice.

I worked at AECOM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I learned a great deal while working here. Advancement opportunities and mentoring was excellent. The people were the best part and made it so I wanted to come to work everyday. I grew a great deal professionally and was exposed to all aspects of the international development process.

    Cons

Expect long hours and quick turnarounds. This is a fast paced environment, which means 60+ hours a week depending on the position you are in. Some people find this invigorating, others find that work is their life. It really depends on the person you are and what you want out of a career.

I have been working at AECOM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well organized system of designers and construction professionals, with lots of resources.

    Cons

None so far. It hasn't really been long enough to get a sense of the bad.

    Advice to Management

Introductions could be more helpful in the beginning if facilitated through a new hire seminar.

    Pros

The people. I love the team and upper management support that I am surrounded by.

    Cons

Cubicle jobs can get very repetitive and tiring at times.

    Advice to Management

I would try treating all of your employees more fairly and on the same scale. SOme get treated more fairly than others and it's definitely noticed by everyone.
