I have been working at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

401k, health benefits, work life balance, degree and training opportunities.

    Cons

Like most defense contract companies you stay in the position you were hired for. There is not a lot of upward mobility unless there is rapid growth.

I worked at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great team, fun projects, and good hours.
Decent jobs to start a career.
Fantastic vacation and sick leave hours.
    Many company sponsored food events.

    Cons

Zero upward mobility unless you are part of the "in crowd."
Too many managers and too few workers.
Employees are just a number even though it's a small company.

    Advice to Management

Invest time in current employees or continue filling the ranks of competitors.

I have been working at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefit package is competitive and attractive for the area

    Cons

Poorly run organization. Lacks professional and experienced leadership at executive levels. Politics are thick and if you aren't part of the in-crowd you will be treated and feel like an outsider. Everything is about direct SETA type labor.

    Advice to Management

Bring in experienced executive management and let them take the company to next level. You've reached your "Law of the Lid". Otherwsie, sell off the organization while there's still value in doing do.

I worked at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The free lunches were nice and the free Friday breakfasts were great. The office was quiet and normally peaceful.
It's shocking how much booze they give out at company events, an exec must have been a frat party hero.
If you're into golf and exotic cars, then you'll fit right in.
The 401(k) retirement contributions are paid for entirely by the company, 3% unvested and up to 7% vested after 5 years (as if that will happen in contracting).

    Cons

The contract that I worked under for this company was all but useless.
Another defense contractor won the rebid for the contract and I was out the door after just several months. It's unethical to hire contractors for permanent work when the contract is only guaranteed for 6 months. I am amazed by the audacity of this company's people.
The coworker that I had insisted on acting like an angry manager despite being only a teammate on the program.
Earning a living isn't much of an excuse to be here, they will want you to go to college or invent a better mouse trap in your time away from work.

    Advice to Management

Have more compassion for the middle class. Not everyone wants to be the next Einstein. Some people just come there to make money.
The evaluations are ridiculous, repetitive, and annoying. Ease the pressure on people to perform at insane production levels.

    Pros

Benefits are good as far as leave and 401k. Insurance is a HD plan.

    Cons

Management make decisions "off the cuff" without consideration of ripple effect.

I have been working at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Moderate sized privately owned company that takes care of their employees.

    Cons

Company size does not always allow employees to remain in the same area with the company if contracts end.

    Advice to Management

Leadership is great and there are lots of developmental programs for both management and employees.

I have been working at AEgis Technologies Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

AEgis is a growing company that still has the perks of a small business. Interesting simulation work. Good reputation with defense industry customers. Upper management understands that sometimes things come up outside of work and they are generally good at balancing those demands. Decent opportunities for professional development. HR is great and very helpful. We have great health care and retirement benefits.

    Cons

Not a lot of upwards mobility. Still a small company, so most of the contract wins are smaller projects. Lots of reorganization within the company and not a lot of information flowing between upper management and their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate more with employees.
