I have been working at AFC Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pretty basic, just handle all employee flights, cars and hotels.. easy work. 9-5 with one hr lunch, off on the weekends. The office environment is nice, family-like.

    Cons

The pay isn't all that great, just a little over minimum wage but it's ok considering the workload. Bummer part is that overtime is not allowed.

I worked at AFC Corporation (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There's nothing righteous about this company.

    Cons

Afc franchise is a horrendous company whose goal is to only consume money and caring less for their workers. Sushi makers/ workers gets paid but guess what? They have to forcibly buy products from Afc, including thousands of dollars and getting lesser raise, thus lessening their salary in which they put their time to make sushi all day. For example, a product might be shipped at publix by Afc, and the next thing you know, the company takes out money from the worker's bank account without first thing notice, compelling you to buy their products. They would also required sushi makers to work all day long, seven times a week, around 8-10 hours every day without letting them get day-offs unlike other business companies like Publix, Target, Walmart, etc. The only day offs they get are on Christmas Day (which all stores are likely to close) and probably another holiday in which all stores are likely to close again, but THATS IT! Not even a 1 day off. Honestly, this company is just a bunch of suckers that only care about money and their-self. They truly don't have emotions as to where they don't realize that their workers also have families like them and tends to support them, but they can't get much family time due to the countless hours of "labor"...

    Advice to Management

Lessening ditatorship - like rules such as giving day offs or at least 1 day ( if they even care about other people and their life...) , and decreasing the amount of debt that sushi makers forcibly had to buy products from the company

    Pros

Mastering the skill and art of sushi rolling. The ability to travel or stay put and everything is paid! Travel, room, food, commute. Meeting people from all over the world. Overtime, overtime, overtime!!

    Cons

The schedule for work is very demanding. Many hours and days straight. In 2011, a chef would work seven days a week, twelve hour days. But you do get compensated for it. Overtime, overtime, overtime.

    Advice to Management

Hire a more diverse team and the company would continue to grow to maximum extremes! Allow holiday time off, close the sushi bar on holidays!

I have been working at AFC Corporation as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Relationship with successful Supermarkets. Overall business concept solid. AFC's 7% franchise fee is standard to the industry and fair.

    Cons

Lack of respect toward franchisee's. Company is reactive not proactive. Only 1 new menu item for the last 30 months. No effective promotions to promote sales. Website is incomplete and out dated. Products are required to be ordered from AFC are unreasonably priced and result is the franchisee's do not receive a fair return for their efforts. Suggestions to management are ignored.

    Advice to Management

The potential to grow business sits before us. Attention to detail and commitment to goals are needed.Top management needs to be reevaluated, as it appears to be weak and without real purpose.

    Pros

The pay is reasonable compared to other companies. And the time is flexible as long as you let the manager know in advance.

    Cons

it involves some labor work and not very suitable for women. Each shift have their own responsibilities and people do not usually help. You need to look after youself.
