I worked at AGC Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Loose, comfortable environment, free drinks.

    Cons

The ability to move up is virtually non existent. The company is India-based so there are a lot of Indians that have prominent roles, and they typically do not interact with anyone other than other Indians. They can be very cliquish, and not have social contact with other cultures or people. I along with other associates would see the CEO of the company who was also Indian, on multiple occasions, who would not say a single word to anyone, despite looking directly in peoples faces . The caste culture ( untouchables) of the Indian people seem to carryover in the US . The yearly raises are a serious joke unless you are a part of an elite few get raises that are actually worth anything . Disciplinary actions are uneven, and appeared to waiver and change on a whim .

    Advice to Management

Invest in those associates who have invested themselves in the company and you will not lose great employees to other companies who will treat them better .

As small/few as there are, solutions architecture team is fantastic. Very willing to attend meetings and assist with designs.

I worked at AGC Networks (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great technical people who are willing to do what needs to be done for a customer. Good intentions and they want the company to succeed. Pay is competitive from a salary standpoint. Most of the services and support people have worked together for awhile which makes for better production and working culture. Acquisition brought fresh air into the business from a sale relationship and broader customer approach.

    Cons

Leadership knows what they know and really not willing to learn new things. Most of the business is tied to products and manufacturers that are in trouble, rely on legacy support or in flux. For a company of this size it takes awhile to get things done due to culture issues and the lack of true accountability management. Sitting on a great Global support model but not sure what to do with it or take steps to open the channel.

    Advice to Management

Accountability should be managed and addressed at all levels of a business. Stay focused on the growth of the company and what actions can be done to allow everyone to be successful. Focus on what you do well and expand it through making hard decisions on legacy business and create more ways to sell and support your core. Less talk, more actions and trust.
