I have been working at AIG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The one reason I decided to work at AIG were the endless opportunities. I keep my eyes open and ears perked for projects that I could get involved in or I come up with new ideas that create buzz. I work on a great team that values diversity and agility in opinion and creativity. Each day is an adventure .... in a good way. I would recommend AIG as an employer to consider.

    Cons

As in any large corporation, 'process' always gets in the way. Process has slowed my role down more often than not. Patience and collaboration is necessary for this to work well.

I have been working at AIG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The experience is great, the benefits (401k, healthcare, vacation, etc.) are generous, and the work environment is friendly and inviting. The opportunity to begin working from home several days a week (up to 3) after a year in the position is also a plus. Work-life balance is good.

    Cons

The salary leaves a bit to be desired, and promotions/raises are not regular.

    Advice to Management

Regular raises would be nice, even if maintaining the structure for promotions stays the same.

I have been working at AIG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Global scope of projects and numerous lines of business provide great variety and experience. Many areas are very generous with flex to WFH.

    Cons

Business is in a great deal of transformation as is leadership and structure. Even newly created roles and hires could be at risk as the evolution changes direction. Results are not at plan.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep your associates aware of what's happening as well as the WHY. Get to know your internal talent and their capability before eliminating people who can do other roles and already know the business and culture.

Benefits! Miss the PTO. Work-life balance, Experienced Managers

    Cons

Stability- too much pressure from the board resulting in a lot of loss of good employees.

    Advice to Management

Stay in tune with your employees. Ask and welcome feedback. Be more transparent.

I worked at AIG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Team Members who are dedicated to achieving results. Frequent remote work for onsite team members who have proven themselves. Global Team Members and Opportunities for responsibility. Company has offered six weeks of PTO upon hire - which is nice but very, very hard to use due to workload.

    Cons

Unrealistic Deadlines and Goals due to extremely high executive pressure and industry challenges. Non Executive Team Members do not receive annual raises and promotions are both very hard to earn and very limited in availability.

    Advice to Management

Establish Firm Deadline to find new CEO and do not pay the existing CEO who failed $5M to continue underperforming - the company would not provide this support to low level team member and the appearance is the company rewards highly placed and compensated Team Members who fail - with keeping their job, salary, and then receiving a performance bonus of $5M.

    - Karl Ichan doesn't let them breathe!

    Advice to Management

Get internal CEO that knows the company inside out
