I worked at AIG as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience and very talented team to learn from about the subsidiaries of AIG and how to file taxes for them as well as supporting your manager with the daily excel work. Surely worth it!

    Cons

Not too much really. If you're looking for a laidback work environment in a fortune 500 company this might be your best bet!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! You guys are totally awesome

I worked at AIG as an intern

    Pros

Market leading compensation, great benefits for full time employees, lots of growth opportunities, supportive management, option to work form home some days

    Cons

Onboarding of interns so they were connecting with the other interns who work in their office as well. I spent three days meeting interns working in other states. The company was also going through a transitional period with layoffs occurring while I was there, so Morale was pretty low, but that is not necessarily something that can be avoided.

    Advice to Management

More so advice to the university relations team, but having there be a portion of onboarding aimed at connecting interns with other interns coming from states outside the east coast if they are interning in the NYC offices. This may help with engagement for people coming far from home to intern

I worked at AIG as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Good insights about the insurance industry and the firm provides great learning opportunities and online resources
-People are overall nice and willing to help as long as you ask questions
-Since the company appointed a new CEO, it was interesting to see the new changes that are happening at the C-suite level

    Cons

-Laid back. In my group, I felt I could do more things but even though I asked for work and other projects to be part of, there was nothing to do.

I worked at AIG as an intern

    Pros

Large corporation, chill working hours. People run by 5 pretty much everyday.

    Cons

Internship projects are not very well designed - you could work half way through your project and found that your team just did not exist because people resigned or were assigned to somewhere else. Couldn't learn a lot through internship.

I worked at AIG as an intern

    Pros

    - You do nothing
    - Come in to work whenever you want
    - Take a long as a lunch break whenever you want
    - Leave whenever you want

    Cons

If you're looking to grow your skills in the tech world, stay far away. All their developers are in India. If you see AIG at your school career fair and think it'll be a good place to work, you will kick yourself so hard after the internship is over when you realize you've learned nothing and wasted an entire summer.
