I have been working at AIG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The one reason I decided to work at AIG were the endless opportunities. I keep my eyes open and ears perked for projects that I could get involved in or I come up with new ideas that create buzz. I work on a great team that values diversity and agility in opinion and creativity. Each day is an adventure .... in a good way. I would recommend AIG as an employer to consider.

    Cons

As in any large corporation, 'process' always gets in the way. Process has slowed my role down more often than not. Patience and collaboration is necessary for this to work well.

I have been working at AIG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Incredible advancement opportunities.
    Amazing work environment.
Very enjoyable and satisfying job duties - I absolutely love what I do.

    Cons

Training isn't great, if you can't just "fake it til you make it." It might not be a great place for you.
Quite a large number of the employees are "consultants." (Temps) - So no paid days off or holidays while you are a temp.

    Advice to Management

Training and post-training support would go extremely far.

I have been working at AIG full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The medical and other benefits are comprehensive. There are excellent claims managers in the casualty department who appreciate creativity and encourage independence. Your day to day entails working with very experienced legal and insurance professionals on challenging claims. Working remotely from home is the norm in many claims units.

    Cons

There is not enough upward mobility within some departments. Company has not allowed an increase in base salary in several years.
