I worked at AIR Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

AIR worldwide has a lot of talented and skilled engineers but most will likely leave after couple of years in the company.

    Cons

Few planted reviews here to pain rosier picture of company.
Upper management in IT department seems to lack focus when it comes to execution and has had made a lot of poor decisions. But company seeks to show little to no signs of learning from them.

    Advice to Management

When people continue to make bad decisions maybe you should realize they are not right fit for the job.

I worked at AIR Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing I do not even say paycheck since that reminds you of how they exploit you.

    Cons

Just wanted to say that the bad reviews posted here are true. AIR tries to save face by defending themselves but this is accurate. Greedy upper management, favoritism, unethical and discriminatory behavior you name anything immoral and unprofessional all this occurs here. Nobody is concerned as upper management is heavily compensated with company stock that is Verisk and drastic cost cutting, outsourcing, taking persons with hardly any experience and fresh out of school are just a few things. Company full of greedy and self serving management who harasses employees mentally and financially. Not worth even looking at this company even if you are unemployed as it is even better working several part time jobs and being happy than being here. Greed is going to lead to their downfall especially with the economy opening up. Greedy people want more and more and can never learn to be satisfied.

    Advice to Management

Continue on the path and you are destined to go down the Verisk stock will definitely go down if this company is still a part of Verisk. Rightly said by somebody clean house Verisk or you will fail miserably. Still take note and drop this company or your stock will plunge down.

I worked at AIR Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Work life balance all the way! No one will monitor your work schedule.

    Cons

Insecurities in management make career growth here impossible. It's really a shame that AIR can't figure this out because it is such an interesting industry. I spent more time dealing with politics than actually working. Next gen software is archaic because it's developed by senior level employees who have never worked at another company & are too insecure about their roles to listen to anyone else in the company. It's such a negative environment. After several years of trying to make it work it was just too exhausting. I called it a day and moved on to something better. I strongly suggest you do the same.

During my exit interview I asked the HR rep to explain her understanding of my role and my department. She didn't have the slightest clue. I've never seen someone so caught off guard. The department in charge of hiring staff and defining career paths doesn't even understand how the company works.

Consistent reports of dysfunctional management across all departments at AIR. HR responds by requiring training programs for all managers. Management problem persists. What's the definition of insanity?

    Advice to Management

I have been working at AIR Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company is filled with opportunities and AIR encourages capable, entrepreneurial employees to step up and try something new. But you have to ask for it, they don't hand out the good projects if to employees who do not show initiative. At the same time, if you just want to do high quality work there is no pressure to take on a high visibility role. Vacation is fantastic and the benefits and other perks are in a cycle of continuous quality improvement.

    Cons

Working in downtown Boston has it pros and cons. While some jobs lend themselves to work from home, I would prefer to have office space that I could go to with and easier commute.

    Advice to Management

There are not enough projects for all the A players you want to higher. Some B players are necessary to do the work.

    Pros

    Interesting and dynamic job environment

    Cons

Not very well managed, although it is improving

    Advice to Management

Some of the senior managers (old-timers) need to change their attitude and their old bad habits (e.g. be more supportive and less critical). They are leading by "bad" example right now

    Pros

Great benefits and location. The nature of the business and global presence makes it difficult to have a good work life balance

    Cons

there are low-quality employees hanging around happily. There is diversity among the ranks, however women are not equally represented in management.

    Advice to Management

The company looses too many knowledge in good employees.

    Pros

Middle Management is open to feedback and willing to listen.

Very smooth process for teams including offshore development , even though the management went through hurdles.

Senior management polls middle management and takes advise.

Accessible to teams as and when needed.

Company doesn't shun away from taking risks.

    Cons

Should give more leverage to leads.

Working with offshore teams needs more interaction so having more face to face meetings in the beginning of projects or quarterly is reasonable and expected for key players.

    Advice to Management

Continue to innovate and take risks.

Continue to listen to teams and make other departments follow the same.
