I worked at AImotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid on time, management transparency, company phone, both healthy and junk snacks in the kitchen, company retreats.

    Cons

Open-plan office, the "don't prepare for the future, only fix today's problems" company credo applied even when it's counter productive.

I have been working at AImotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

An invigorating startup experience - these guys are out to get results over anything else.

Compensation is fair, the atmosphere is friendly. A lot of super smart people to hang out with during breaks or after work.

The management trusts people to do their job effectively, so working in a low-stress, high productivity environment is only up to you.

    Cons

Publishing without a patent or getting deep into a subject is almost completely out of the question. If it works, move on to the next problem.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at AImotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The place is full of highly skilled people in various fields of tech and engineering. Its atmosphere is inspiring, motivating, and it is a perfect opportunity to learn from your colleagues.
Dynamic tasks: you are not going to be stuck for a single task for years. It is a shared development with good transparency on the work of other groups, so it's easy to find a challenge that suits your needs.
    Plus:
Young team, superb equipment, cool office, competitive salary, and one of the hottest topics in cutting edge technology: self-driving.

    Cons

Like in every startup, it is strongly required by the employees to be proactive and adapt to ever-changing strategies and tasks. Laziness, non-commitment and inflexibility will not take you far.

    Advice to Management

From time-to-time, seeing the world with the eyes of a developer can be very useful. As the company grows, transparency is decreasing, and a 'general employee' might lose track of happenings. Initiate discussions with the employees on projects, business goals, challenges and partners!

I have been working at AImotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work
    -- Interesting and diverse jobs

    Equipment
-- You can choose between two HD monitors or one ultrawide to your likings.
-- You can use your own keyboard and mouse, because the stock one is quite... poor.
-- You can choose your chair from a list, and you can opt for a lift-able table, so you can do standing work. (A real pro!)

    Management
    -- Well... not much.

    Benefits
-- Cheap soda and coke, free veggies and fruits each day.
-- There are no stupid benefits like SZEP card, that you cannot spend on anything.
-- Occasional group or company wide activities.

    Cons

    Work
-- Fully open office. Really? Facilitating communication? Sure if you are not working or you are in the BD, HR or so division. Serious developers and development needs a cozy and quite environment.
-- Leading and management have their... challenges. See it in that section.

    Equipment
-- You cannot choose what kind of OS/machine you would like to receive. Okay, I understand that Mac is not an option, but at least a Linux...
-- In 2018 you are struck with a hungarian keyboard layouted ultrabook (no ethernet port, 3 USB, etc, no docking station), what is a complete nonesense if you are coding through the whole day.

    Management
-- Most of the management are greenhorns and very young. They have their distinct style of leading (if any), but this does not mean, that they share the same values and methods.
-- There is not a single unifying vision/strategy in the company, most of the groups are in free for all mode, while most of the managers try to meddle with issues that is out of their understanding. (Which tools to use to create robust software, testing methodologies, etc.)
-- Similar could be said for the acting second in command guy, the BD, communications and so. They like to throw buzzwords and nice pictures around, but they lack deep understanding of the problems and ideas how to handle serious issues. (Apart from "it will be good in the future!", "we will solve that issue in no time next month!", etc.)
-- The HR has way too much power in the company. If you have a good relations with them, wonders may happen to your position and payroll... Also they like to enforce a lot of time consuming and irrational "sociometries" onto you, and draw conclusions from irrational results. (Do not get me wrong, there are good sociometric surveys, but these ones are just plain stupid.)

    Benefits
-- You are involved in the company through shares, but to be honest that is only beneficial for the old guard. New employees might get a few bucks from that, but thats all.

    Advice to Management

Think about who are you hiring and why.
Think about creating a well established, unified way of working.
Think about asking your employees and actually _hearing_ their opinion.
Think about giving options to your developers to make.

    Pros

It's a great workplace where you have a chance to be creative, and everyone has a very friendly attitude; it's common to share knowledge with each other. You can learn a lot, it's up to you what you can reach here, and if you have a good idea you can share that with the management.

    Cons

Because of the open office, it's sometimes noisy.

    Advice to Management

    More transparency in development.

    I worked at AImotive full-time

    Pros

Up to date technologies and tools.

    Cons

The company operates in an open office environment, which is scientifically proven to affect people negatively, and I agree to that.
The company recently fired a few employees, including senior developers. When you leave the company, all your stocks are gone.
Self-driving cars are a great risk, as there isn't yet a defined behaviour for them.
There are barely any testers in the company.
The company doesn't know how to manage patents.

    Pros

Stimulating environment where you can get professional challenges every day
Great team supporting each other, every one of them aiming at reaching the same company goals
Much room for professional development either in-house or at conferences

    Cons

In certain roles, organizing your daily work needs much autonomy and self-determination (which might be fearsome for some)

    Advice to Management

A bit more consistency in adhering to and executing company goals

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at AImotive full-time

    Pros

A seriously result-oriented company. Everyone is committed to put self-driving cars on the streets, even the back-est back office employees make their decisions with this in mind. Interesting and challenging tasks, extremely knowledgeable and creative people, proper infrastructure, comfortable and flexible environment, opportunities to work some time abroad, and generous salary (if you bring the results, of course).

    Cons

There is some of uncertainty here. Priorities shift frequently as the technology and the market evolves. This however is natural for a tech startup on the forefront of self-driving R&D. Come here only if you prevail in such an enterprise.

    Advice to Management

Could use some organizational and leadership development to make the team as effective as possible.

The mood within the company is extremly good, everybody is friendly and helpful so that is why you feel like at home.
