"Not for the faint of heart but being able to keep up in this demanding, fast paced retail environment has it's perks."

I worked at ALDI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    + industry leading wages
      Associates - $12/hr, Shift Mgr - $16/hr,
      SMT - $23/hr, Store Manager - $75,000+/yr
    + great work environment
    + excellent training
+ health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k
    + 40-50 hr/wk with paid overtime

Very fast paced so work hours fly by.
I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

    Cons

    + work/life balance
    + walked 28,000 steps/day!!!

Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to reconsider their firing practice. Totally unfair to be fired by somebody who has never seen you or your work. Voluntary turnaround is out of control due to work load. I get it, its not for everyone, but value those that you do have. I was looking forward to putting in 15-20 years of my life into this company while I watched the average employee last only 3-5. Not disgruntled, more like heartbroken :'-(

I have been working at ALDI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, benefits, schedule, responsibility, freedom, trust, insurance, company car, vacation, training, mentors, company culture, being treated as an executive from day 1

    Cons

It can be high stress. Having freedom means you are responsible for being efficient with your time. Unexpected tasks arise fairly often.

    Advice to Management

To focus on the main things and ensure long term focus on the basics. To streamline information in order to facilitate the previously stated goal.

I have been working at ALDI full-time

    Pros

It is great to work for a company that is growing as quickly as ALDI, in a segment like grocery where it is largely immune to any economic situation since people always need groceries.

    Cons

Not necessarily a con, but some could see it that way - every position in the company has a TON of responsibility. Our operations employees are some of the hardest working people in retail. It is true that because of all of the responsibility, at times it can be tough to separate your work life from your personal life.

I have been working at ALDI part-time

    Pros

    Pays well
    work with my school schedule
    Always something to do

    Cons

Sometimes managers are less than stellar it's person to person
Ask for certain organizational things that are nigh impossible or would take hours and hours of extra time for no value

    Advice to Management

Ask for realistic things that employees can do.

    Pros

Great pay & benefits, flexibility in scheduling, excellent leadership development and a chance to make an impact on a large organization. Overall, not many companies can compete with the level of early career responsibility the District Manager position offers.

    Cons

Demanding position that is not for everyone. The first year of training is not glamorous and requires a high-level commitment from day 1. This can be challenging for many new college graduates.
