I have been working at ALTEN full-time

    Pros

Not so many indeed...just a company where you can get some expierence, even as a project leader. As the employees do not stay long, there are from time to time some "good" opportunities/positions.
It is possible to have a good work-life balance.

    Cons

    No proffesional development plan.
    Low salaries
    No trainings
Do not expect too much about the company.

I have been working at ALTEN full-time

    Pros

    - Fleet
    - Car Policy
    - Mobile subscription

    Cons

    - Salary is to low, they promise a lot but you don't get is, verbal agreement is different from actual written agreement as they can't make it true

    - Business Manager, you are just a number, they sell you and that is everything.. You can ask anything, but not sure if you will receive any answer within a month

    - Office, they have multiple offices now, since that everything goes wrong, trainer on one place, trainees on the other office, this due communication problems

    - Communication, most of business is only speaking french and nothing else. They try but for that function it is sad they don't speak multiple languages

    Pros

They place you and they pay on time. Well structured HR office in Brussels.

    Cons

Due to pressure, account managers will lie to you regarding promotion, salary and other conditions. When you're not in a mission, you have to do their job.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your account managers strategy totally

    Pros

Friendly and professional people. Every time that I had a problem, the staff was always very helpful.

    Cons

It's an outsourcing company...so for career development, one doesn't have much opportunities...

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at ALTEN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are a few capable business managers, truly getting the right people in the right places.
They hire people even when they have little experience and try to find possibilities.
Contact between consultant and business manager is often en friendly.
Almost always very good preparation for meetings with the client.

    Cons

If no project is found for you, they will fire you sooner than later, even if it isn't your fault (business managers that fail to find the right project, alten presenting multiple consultants for the same project, with large difference in experience,...)
Some less than capable business managers.

    Advice to Management

Ease the pressure on the business managers, let them focus on getting consultants on long term projects, at clients are recurring clients, not hit and run clients and pressuring managers to place x amount of consultants every month..
