I have been working at ALTEN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young, multicultural environment. Good chances of career development on a short-term for little to non-experienced workers.

    Cons

The company has a vertical structure. It is hard to develop a substantial career (economically and professionally) in the long-term as an engineer.

    Advice to Management

Jobs are underpaid, triggering mid-senior to senior workers to continually seek for better-paid opportunities, making the company constantly lose highly valued know-how.

I have been working at ALTEN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They hire engineers before the customer service start. It seems to be working in many fields. But I am not sure about it.

    Cons

They change in the contact after being signed, change the terms of the project Vereinbarung, pressure on you to accept thier conditions in non ethical way

I have been working at ALTEN (More than a year)

    Pros

The interview is incredibly easy, as they will mainly prepare you for the technical interview with their client, the management is generally easygoing.
They have good clients, at least in the Côte d'Azur area.
Most of the consultants are fresh graduates from University.
Really good balance between life and work!

    Cons

Salary is a little below average, the new reimbursement policy is ridiculous (ticket restaurant for lunch, that are not accepted on client's site).
Not many senior people among consultants.
If you have experience you should probably look somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

    Please fix the reimbursement policy!

I have been working at ALTEN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very easy to pass the interview - and this should warn you most.
    South of France (nice climate).

    Cons

    Everything else is bad.

They promise you interesting and modern project but you'll get technologies from 90's.
They promise you french courses but you'll get only imitation of language courses (and don't forget to say "thanks" for them).
They promise you some perks (relocation help and canteen compensation) but in fact they are obliged by the French law to provide it, and they do it with a lowest possible price.
Low salary and no way to make it bigger. No career opportunities. A very low chance of getting hired directly by contractor company even if you are thinking that you are good developer and you can show yourself - they don't care unless you are graduated from a very expensive french high school.

South of France (everything else: very high prices of everything (with low quality), too many tourists).

Don't buy tickets for interview by yourself - ask them to do it (because they will have "some problems" to compensate it later if you decline the offer) and don't accept anything less than 39k (of base).

    Advice to Management

You are doing great job generating revenue from selling cheap workforce for a big price.

I have been working at ALTEN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

To get involved in really interesting projects coming from customer. Any possible training comes always from the customer. Alten supports that only in words...I am an Engineer in Midlands- UK

    Cons

Alten is happy to debelop and get you some training only if is free or the customer takes the responsinility. You see your business managers once a month at least but they are almost useless. Show your customer you perform well, and you might get a job there. Alten engineers are also with small experiencevas most of them are very young. Around 24-27...How Alten considers this as consultation....? Anything has to do with future carreer progression is very difficult as they are powerless unless the customer agrees with that.

    Advice to Management

Change your philosophy. Stop being verbally supportive and take real actions. Train your engineers. Show them a realistic carreer path and not only promises....

I have been working at ALTEN full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free to choose a lot of things as what to do with your money (before you take it as salary). Good people working there.

    Cons

Does not pay very well. They do not have the most experienced negotiators when comes to talking to the customers.

    Advice to Management

You have to stand to your employees side more and not always bend to customers side. Also some of the management can be more and faster responsive.
