I have been working at ALTEN full-time

    Pros

Nothing to be recalled right now. Bills paid, autonomy. If you want to start somewhere but no idea where, this is the place for you.

    Cons

Understand the type of company this is, this is the Macdonalds of engineering, you will be flipping hamburgers on each and every project you are assigned to.
This is a company made by the shareholders for the shareholders. Forget about building something useful for yourself in here.

    Advice to Management

The management does not care about their employees, and they get a employee turnover of 50% every year. Not even a call center can fail so miserably at retaining their workforce.

    I worked at ALTEN full-time

    Pros

Good location, interview processes. Good first job opportunity to learn English and start in the industry.

    Cons

Management is poor, salaries are not reviewed, KPI sometimes unreachable and interview processes don't make any sense sometimes.

    Advice to Management

No advice to give but only a recommendation, you should listen and reward your employees more often to motivate them and stop thinking too much in a french way. Especially when you are working abroad.

I worked at ALTEN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance. However, the work-life balance is not due to Alten is related to the client to which the engineer is committed.

    Cons

On average, an engineer is heavily underpaid, really poor benefits, no career development, absolute lack of commitment from a management point of view. The worst aspect is related to the roles, quite often the proposed positions sound interesting but are all smoke to attract engineer. The job opportunities they brag about are all fake or mocked-up on purpose. The management has no interest in the quality of the hiring process without any care on who is hired or where they are employed; the consequence is often the total mismatch between roles and skills. They do not make the interest of the client nor the interest of the employees. When people manifest unrest Alten uses either to lie faking fancy changes that end up with similar positions or, in some more problematic cases, to harass peoples.

    Advice to Management

The quality of a business which can dream to last for long pass through the commitment of the management to a clean and honest footprint. In this moment Alten is anything but clean or honest with employees and clients.

I have been working at ALTEN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Very good extra activities (including team building, cookie days, parties)
    - Fruits
    - Flexible schedule

    Cons

    - after 6 months you are going to become bored - small complexity of tasks
    - almost no chances for evolution in career for an engineer
    - a lot of security issues due to the lack of IT administration procedures

    Advice to Management

Try to discuss with the employees to understand their needs.
