I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a good beginner job to learn good customer service and communication skills. There is never a dull moment and always something new to learn.

    Cons

Holidays and big release movies are extremely busy and could be grueling to work in such conditions. Have to face harsh criticism from guests even when not at fault.

    Advice to Management

Have better communication with employees and fellow supervisors. Reward those who consistently work harder their peers and that show initiative.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Free popcorn and drinks during breaks; discounted concession items during breaks

-Friendly company, always about "putting the guest first"

    Cons

Just like any retail job, you deal with annoyed/angry customers, sometimes annoyed/angry for no reason of your own.

    Advice to Management

Promote employees more based on employee quality, than favoritism.

I worked at AMC Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started out at AMC as a film crew member during the school year. The workload was always manageable and work schedules were always flexible. Very easy to switch shifts or transfer to other locations during vacations (at least at my theater). Within 9 months of working there, I got my first ever promotion to Supervisor! The pay was not much higher than crew members, but the knowledge gained working in multiple departments such as Booth, Marketing, HR, and Food and Beverage is very invaluable. The work environment is very fun and the team feels more like family than bosses, co-workers, and associates alike. Great place to start off with PLENTY of room for growth! I even went interviewed for the corporate internship in Kansas City! Trust me, AMC LOVES to promote from within!!!

    Cons

    - regular pay for working holidays (film crew and supervisors)
    - few perks

    Advice to Management

Keep innovating! Recliner seats and McGuffins were the best things to happen to this company in a while....hahaha.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at a really small AMC location and it was the best job I've ever had. Got free food and drinks, had great coworkers, and had great management.

    Cons

The hours were sometimes inconsistent and there would be long periods of silence between showings

    Advice to Management

    NA

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only discount food and free movies only for you and ONE person.

    Cons

-pay is too low for what they have you do on daily bases

    -Managers are lazy as hell

-If your beginning the job they have you Ushering like crazy for months. It's basically like cleaning the entire theater and the place itself.

    - I'm leaving this dumb for a better job wouldn't recommend at all unless you like to work your butt off for pennies.

    Advice to Management

-increase the wages because no one wouldn't work for you if you have high expectations

    - IN the near future pay more for ushers because we bust our butts and it's not fair for little pay.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time

    Pros

    - Free movies.

    - The work/life balance will be great since you'll hardly be getting any hours!

    Cons

    - They will lie to you about the amount of hours you typically will work.
    - They will cut your hours at random on slow days.
    - Mandatory and unpaid lunch breaks.
    - Even if you disclose that you are transgender during the application process, they will still make you clean/use the restrooms of your gender assigned at birth. There are no unisex/family restrooms to remedy this issue either.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your new hires about the amount of hours you're going to give them, you do not know the individual situations of your employees and your sporadic and inconsistent modification of their schedules could be impacting them more than you'd assume.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free movies, flexible schedule, easy job ( it's meant as a summer job, don't get stuck trying to move up it isn't worth it)

    Cons

Management team. They always stay in their office and never come down to help. They only promote favorites. They like to go on power trips for every little thing. There are little to no hours if your theater doesn't get the big movies. We didn't get the wage increase so we still get 10.50

    Advice to Management

    Get a new management team.
