I have been working at AMC Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

AMC offers a fast paced fun work environment. Unlimited free movies for anyone who isn't salaried, and free or discounted food while working. Additionally, matching 401(k) contributions up to 5% and decent health benefits (full time positions only). Finally, advancement potential is great and with theatres all over the US/world you have the ability to transfer to another theatre if you desire.

    Cons

The pay is rather poor, and many in management end up leaving as they are able to find a higher paying job elsewhere, many times with less required of them.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your management teams. Raise pay to be comparable with market levels, this goes for your supervisors up to general managers.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Fun co workers
    Exceptional upper staff

    Cons

Not staying true to the rules. If someone breaks them they should be written up for it, or at least a slap on the wrist. Takes a long time to get stock orders in.

    Advice to Management

    Be strict

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free movies but you can only take on person with you, friendly environment, feels like you are working with a family.

    Cons

There is a reason everyone is leaving at my AMC. The pay is terrible sure the job is easy but the work amount is terrible as well as the constant 8 hours shifts.

You end up doing so much more then you are actually supposed to. Most of management is lazy and sits in the office. Rather then coming down to help you they will try and guide you over the walkie. Just another example of laziness if you are ushering and need help, they will ask someone who is in a different area and who is busy to help the usher.

I am working roughly 28-32 hours a week with no benefits. I would love shorter hours but we are so short staffed.

There is no more hiring within so if you are planning to move up have fun driving to another AMC farther away!

Get ready to work with a bunch of 14-16 year olds who have no idea how to even put popcorn in a bag. Do the minimum amount you can and don't even try. You'll be the best employee if you go just a little beyond the bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring 15 year olds. They only work weekends and make our job harder.

Stop giving such long hours in one day and space it out instead.

I know they can't do anything about pay but if possible increase pay and give us benefits if we are working 28 hours and over.

Stop having the same people close every night.
