I have been working at AMC Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Usually decent hours
    Simplistic work

    Cons

Advancement is kind of random, and there is A LOT of favoritism
The pay is anything but competitive

    Advice to Management

AMC would benefit from both a different management structure, both economically and moral-wise, and would also be a much better place to work if there was a way to weed out the favoritism. Basically how the current structure works is, crew members are the bottom rung of the ladder, the next step up is Crew Leads, these are essentially glorified crew members with a different name tag, and SLIGHTLY higher pay, then you've got your run of the mill supervisors and/or kitchen supervisors etc. basically all they do is count money and instruct the lower-downs on what needs to be done, and how to do it, then you have hourly managers who are supposed to be in charge of most of the paperwork and managerial responsibilities, handling employees' disciplinary warnings, etc. but most, if not all of their responsibilities are farmed out to the supervisors in my experience, then you have the General Manager, who oversees the building's operations, and is supposed to guide the rest of management on how he/she wants things done, but in my experience, most of them make the manager schedules and take a hands-off approach to the rest of the building.

I worked at AMC Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started out at AMC as a film crew member during the school year. The workload was always manageable and work schedules were always flexible. Very easy to switch shifts or transfer to other locations during vacations (at least at my theater). Within 9 months of working there, I got my first ever promotion to Supervisor! The pay was not much higher than crew members, but the knowledge gained working in multiple departments such as Booth, Marketing, HR, and Food and Beverage is very invaluable. The work environment is very fun and the team feels more like family than bosses, co-workers, and associates alike. Great place to start off with PLENTY of room for growth! I even went interviewed for the corporate internship in Kansas City! Trust me, AMC LOVES to promote from within!!!

    Cons

    - regular pay for working holidays (film crew and supervisors)
    - few perks

    Advice to Management

Keep innovating! Recliner seats and McGuffins were the best things to happen to this company in a while....hahaha.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was a great first job in high school. When I went off to college, I would come back during my breaks and easily be able to pick up where I left off. Hours are very flexible and they basically schedule you based on when you tell them you're available which is really nice. You rarely work over 20 hours (could be bad if you want a lot of hours).

The management changed a lot while I was there, but the people who worked there were great! They were supportive and generally pretty chill. Generally I learned a lot while I was there and it was a very positive experience! You also get TIPS certified, which means you take courses in handling alcohol which could look good on future applications if you want to do bartending or restaurants.

Another great perk is FREE MOVIES! You can bring friends or your family can go watch movies for free even without you! You also get discounts on food and drinks as well.

    Cons

    - Guests can be rude and annoying
    - Hours generally run pretty late (sometimes midnight-1am or later depending on closing), but this could be good for high schoolers who are willing to put in the work because they can work after school.
    - Advancing to a supervisor position is mainly based on performance, which is actually a pro in my opinion, but I was offered a supervisor position only after a few months with the company while many Film Crew employees had been there 6 years or more and weren't promoted to supervisor.

    Pros

    Great environment
    Sweet and caring managers
    Friendly and helpful co-workers
Laid back environment, perfect for people who need to take their time working
    Sweet customers
    Great pay and hours

    Cons

    Rude and trashy customers
Some employees don't items, making it hard to keep everything stocked
Can get really busy in a short amount of time, making anyone feel overwhelmed

    Advice to Management

Keep treating everyone with respect, but I do advise you to have everyone stock up, so that way you can keep everything caught up

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at a really small AMC location and it was the best job I've ever had. Got free food and drinks, had great coworkers, and had great management.

    Cons

The hours were sometimes inconsistent and there would be long periods of silence between showings

    Advice to Management
