I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great work environment, friendly staff and management, really good employee benefits, great flexible schedule.

I worked at AMC Entertainment full-time for less than a year

    Pros

One of the best things about working at AMC was definitely the crew they made coming to work not a chore and we all got a long and had fun while doing our job. It’s also pretty great getting to interact with people and over time build friendly relationships with guests

    Cons

I’d say a con would be the scheduling during slow times

I have been working at AMC Entertainment full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Work with some of the most talented, amazing, fun, and loving people you will ever encounter - Great business integrity. At least corporate try to be. All GM are different, but most of them actually care about you and your personal well being - Good learning opportunity in terms of business management, people management. It really depends on your direct supervisor if they are the inspiring type of get through the day type. - Usually pretty flexible with schedule, you can generally get any days off as long as you communicate in advance, properly. - OK on 401K, medical benefits. I don't personally use medical benefits but I heard it's not cheap - great benefits for part-time associates as they can see movies for free, 50% off concession price up to certain amount ($100 I think).

    Cons

    - Very labor intensive, long hours, lack of work live balance. Theatre NEVER close... Holidays, snow day... They are getting better, but very hard for part time associate to be as dedicated. - Strict staff model, cutting pennies to spent dollar. Often run into improper staffing models and people calling out sick and no one willing to cover. - If you are a supervisor or above, expect no break, your only break is to sit in the office between rushes. - Be prepared to deal with some of the ruthless people, at the same time you will see some really nice frequent movie goers - Don't expect raises. The only way to have a financial gain is to move up the latter - The training program for Manager or above is really all depending on your managerial experience rather than actual training. Mostly learned from job - Profit usually comes first. My market really valued integrity, but often profit comes before service and people

I have been working at AMC Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free movies, good benefits once you get to manager & above, lots of opportunities to move around the country once you become a Senior Manager/General Manager.

    Cons

VERY political. Advancement opportunities are sometimes limited to "who you know" not "what you know." What's the official policy is not always what actually happens. Very cliquey the higher up you go. Currently not a lot of trust in the executive team for various reasons.
