    Pros

Great part time job for new comers.
Great place to move up within the company. Almost all members of management came from Crew. Positions from theatre management to corporate associates are all filled by former Film Crew.
All AMC associates receive free movie tickets.
If you like working on your feet and not behind a desk AMC is for you.
If you are willing to relocate AMC pays all costs. You get a chance to see the United States at AMC's expense

    Cons

Does pay min. wage for entry level crew.
Tends to over work its top performers.
Work / Life balance is difficult for management and senior management.

    Advice to Management

Look into improving Work / Life balance. Great Job running a world class company.

    Pros

Great people and staff. It is a a great place if you want to work with other people, and work on your customer service skills.

    Cons

I would say that the worst part of being a manager is having to work with apathetic teenagers. These kids don't understand that even though you don't want to be an usher for the rest of your life, your next employer will call us to see how you did. And if you have a piss-poor attitude, and were texting all day, we will tell them that. This generation needs to take pride in their work, and not act entitled to praise when it is not earned.

Be a little more picky about who you hire

    Pros

You are able to move up with in the company.
    Insurance is available
Starts at minimum wage but one you get promoted the pay gets better and better.
A lot of friendly people to work with.

    Cons

You work with a lot of immature high school kids. Some of them are great to work with others are just experiencing their first job.

    Advice to Management

Most theatres have great management but not all. Management switches and not all managers are experienced enough or are very good.

    Pros

Family atmosphere among coworkers and managers adds to the fun environment that is working a movie theater. Never a dull moment and always had a good time while working. Managers took complaints seriously and were awesome about scheduling issues, or issues with other coworkers. Through this company I made many friends to last a life time.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be a little gross although I don't know what jobs aren't. I have extreme issues with one supervisor who is very disrespectful to me. The shifts can sometimes suck (Like an 8am opening shift on New Years Day!)

    Advice to Management

The managers do a great job making sure all employees are comfortable and happy with there jobs. I suggest the re-evaluate there supervisors because one of them is abusing her supervisor privileges and makes it a pain to work if she is there.

    Pros

The best reason to work at AMC is the free movies, concessions, and of course the entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Cons

The only down side was the fact that they started to close some theaters in areas that people enjoy movies like taylor MI

    Advice to Management

The best reason to work at AMC is the free movies, concessions, and of course the entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Pros

First off, the environment is great, the people are nice, the managers are nice, everyone is friendly, everyone helps when their help is needed. The work load is fairly easy, time goes by quick when ushering. Discounts on food, pretty much everything half off, free drinks, and popcorn, free movies, literally whenever you want as long as it doesn't sell it and isn't conflicting with your schedule, free movies for friends and family as well. After 30 days you get a stubs card which is crucial in my opinion. Everyone is very descriptive, and it doesn't take long to catch on with the rest of the film crew. Promotions come in handy but guest services promotions don't really change how much you make. the pay is 7.25 and hour but you get great hours so it balances out well. Everything is great, and it's only my first 2 weeks. I love it already, nothing will change, it gets better everyday.

    Cons

AMC is apart of the union.

    Advice to Management

Great work from all members of the staff.

I worked at AMC Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quick process, Basic questions, Easy Quiz, Decent pay and plenty of perks from free movies heavily discounted foods and immediate family is able to watch free movies as long as you work there.

    Cons

Because it's a theater teens and colleges kids come to see thrillers or cult movies while under the influence of drugs and alcohol which makes it hard to deal with them

    Advice to Management

When you hire someone, keep the lines of communication open and make sure that responsible employees are involved in the interview process so that important information isn't lost
