I worked at AMC Networks (More than a year)

    Pros

It has various group employee benefits.

    Cons

Very low salary, no room to grow. Company has been changing the management staff, and bringing individuals from other countries branches to be trained. It looks they are leaving South Florida.

    Advice to Management

We are not machines, we are human beings. Stressing, and abusing your employees is a very bad karma!

I worked at AMC Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent Benefits
    Considerable amount of flexibility
    Great co-workers

    Cons

Senior Management that is out of touch
    Poorly planed restructuring
HR team that is soulless and asleep at the wheel
Lack of innovation within certain cost centers

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee engagement. Wipe out HR and hire a team that know what they're doing around developing and engaging employees. Professional development opportunities are non existent. Stop letting the C-Suite hire their friends and do a real skills assessment of your leadership at the VP level and above.

I worked at AMC Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work life balance is pretty good, as most people did leave on time. Good location for LIRR riders.

    Cons

Lots of office politics. So much so, that it makes it hard to do your job well.

    Pros

Cache -- but only if you work for AMC proper.
    Good healthcare options.

    Cons

    Stressful work environment.
No light on the floors due to dated architecture and design.
    No summer Fridays.
    Cheap.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with the respect they deserve.

    Pros

My position allowed for a great work life balance and I worked with some amazing and talented people. I enjoyed going to work every day. Benefits were good until they took away the better PPO plan, they were just OK when I left.

    Cons

Ineffective and disengaged HR Department with massive turnover. Lack of vision and communication from senior management. Pay was low, comp's data was extremely outdated and the bonus structure was not comparable to other companies in the industry. The moral was so low when I left and I continue to hear from people who talk about how much worse it has become. Senior Management just doesn't seem to care the way they used to and the employees feel it. There is little room for growth as they are much more likely to go to the outside to fill open positions.

    Advice to Management

Pay a little more attention to the people actually doing the work. There are a lot of incredible people working very hard to make AMC a great place. They go above and beyond day in and day out while being underpaid, overworked and treated poorly by their management.

    Advice to Management

I worked at AMC Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

While the company is groundbreaking in it's content, it needs it's improvement on it's people skills. The benefits are what you would expect for a US company and they're looking to improve the office physical environment.

    Cons

There's a great feeling of unrest and uncertainty for employees regardless of their tenure and it's palpable. Loyal, long term employees aren't rewarded and the whims of the board seem to be of more importance.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting go of the good people. Make your staff feel wanted and welcome. Ratings and market share won't mean much if no one wants to be there.

I have been working at AMC Networks full-time

    Pros

You get to work on the some of the most iconic television series in television. There's nothing quite like the rush of making pop culture.

    Cons

Extremely old school hierarchically, passive aggressive culture with little to no vision for the future of television. I am very scared for the future of this company and its employees. TV is changing and no one at AMC is moving fast enough to make sure it doesn't lose its audience.
