I have been working at AMC Networks full-time

    Pros

You get to work on the some of the most iconic television series in television. There's nothing quite like the rush of making pop culture.

    Cons

Extremely old school hierarchically, passive aggressive culture with little to no vision for the future of television. I am very scared for the future of this company and its employees. TV is changing and no one at AMC is moving fast enough to make sure it doesn't lose its audience.

I have been working at AMC Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good people, networking, opportunities to learn, resume builder, close to penn station and multiple subway lines, good benefits (for employees who started prior to 2016)

    Cons

listening to Long Island accents all day, midtown is a horrible section of nyc, low pay, there's a boys club mentality amongst management and if you aren't in it you know it

    Advice to Management

stop treating people like they're all replaceable. morale is terrible after all of the reorganizations. we would be less disgruntled if the pay gap amongst the hierarchy wasn't so great. analysts have become the untouchables in your weird corporate caste system.

I have been working at AMC Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It has a very creative environment, where there is room to grow. With AMC's recent success, the company seems young and just constantly growing.

    Cons

Pay is not that great, and if you are on a small network, there is a higher chance you cannot grow in the field you are looking to grow in.

    Pros

Very approachable upper management and you can really learn whatever you set out to learn. Everyone is respectful of your work-life balance

    Cons

Your salary is very low compared to others in similar positions. In addition there are positions created that all have very similar job descriptions that can range from coordinator to manager. People that have been around forever hold on to work and can make promotion within the company EXTREMELY hard. Have to claw to get promoted and a raise in this place. It also doesn't help that there is no uniformity between the companies so no one has a good idea what anyone does outside of upper management.

I have been working at AMC Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

if you're working in the Los Angeles office, you have great exposure to the development and production teams, but overall AMC Networks is a changing company. There are many nice, smart and hardworking people, but the company operates like a new company (rather than one which has been around for 20+ years). The company has great employee benefits and pays pretty well for a cable network.

    Cons

Again, focusing on change. AMC Networks years ago was an amazing place to work. With all of its success, unfortunately that changed over the years. Work, life balance is not supported and employees spend years in the same positions with no opportunity to get promoted. AMC Networks is very much a NYC based company, so that culture and those professional expectations extend into all offices. For example, most employees work east coast in addition to west coast hours.

    Advice to Management

It's takes all types of personalities and professional strengths to make a company successful.

    Pros

Company is lead by a smart and visionary executive who promotes creativity and risk taking from his direct reports. The company headquarters is centrally located in Manhattan for commuters from Long Island and NJ. Great benefits.

    Cons

Company is not the best at nurturing talent and promoting within. Could also do better with increasing diversity among its employees.

I have been working at AMC Networks (Less than a year)

    Pros

A big company that you know will be around for years. Layoffs are relatively few and far between. Immediate management has always been good to me, but higher ups can cause issues. HR at this company is awfulll

    Cons

Gradually becoming worse. As it was split off from Cablevision they started taking away taking away more benefits from employees.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are your life blood. Treat them as such and stop taking things away. Happy employees are better and more production employees.
