    Pros

    They have exclusive Kaiser contracts.

    Cons

Recruiters are ocassionally misleading with their offers. If you choose to allow them to secure your housing, you are stuck with whatever they choose you even if you find more affordable housing elsewhere. They'll take all your housing stipend and put you in a cheap Extended Stay America or somewhere equivalent.

    Pros

Amazing place and people to work for! Always has something fun happening, drawings for prizes but most importantly there is a lot of positive support and resources to do the job.

    Cons

Takes a while to build up & make money--until then you are making about only $100 more a month than unemployment. In San Diego that is hard to do unless you have a partner or another income.

My drive my Mission Valley to Del Mar was an hour each way, but if you a fine with that it truly is a nice place to work.

I have been working at AMN Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Extremely well established company, ranked #1 among competitors, very good company to say you work for. Non-micro mgmt., lots of freedom to do your job & build report with staff & other dept.'s, convenient access of amenities (cafe, gym), ability to control most of your schedule, good amt of 1:1's to discuss issues with your Supervisor.

    Cons

Very "clicky," Mgr.'s could be more enthusiastic, they expect their staff to be enthusiastic, but they're not. Mgr.'s & leaders are selective on who they say, "Hello" to or who they mingle with. Once a complaint is addressed by you, Mgr.'s keep limited interaction with you. They just go through the motions of acknowledging your concern. Senior leadership tend to take a lot of vacations or leave for the day for personal reasons; however, it's frowned upon if you take a vacation as often as they do or have an emergency. Word spreads fast & it's hard to trust your own Supervisors or Mgr.'s. They will even gossip about their own employees. Pay is extremely low & not competitive, location is within the highest cost of living areas in San Diego, which makes it hard to commute to, leadership does not give enough praise or acknowledgement for your achievements or success; when they do, it's selective, lots of staff are always on their phones or at each other's cubicle talking rather than being productive, very minimal pay raises, you cannot afford the cost of living in San Diego with the pay.

    Advice to Management

Employees should be drug tested upon the application process, don't be selective on which staff you choose to associate yourself with, be fair with praises, staff could be more disciplined on being more productive vs. shirking; then again, maybe that's why that behavior exists if the pay is so low. Try to be involved in promotions rather than employees trying so hard to self-promote themselves.

I have been working at AMN Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good health insurance (Vision, Dental, Medical, life insuranc, etc). Can get pricey if you have a family though. Generous 401k match. Standard Holidays and PTO policies, includes volunteer time off.

    Cons

It is easy to fall in love with AMN at first. You work hard, make friends and are constantly learning. You come to believe you are making a difference. The longer you are their, the more you see how the company really operates. There are very loose 'ethics', but they will jam down your throat they are the most ethical company out there. You can't speak up about issues or suggested improvements, or you will get a target on your back. It is very much an 'ol boys club when it comes to management, which equates to many under-qualified 'leaders'. It is near impossible to advance yourself if your manager does not like you, but if they do...the sky is the limit! (See above about under-qualified people running the depts). Its a good place to get some experience and make some new friends.

    Beautiful facility. Starbucks on site.

    Cons

Company will "say" that it values employees, but treats them like they are replaceable. Thank us with better pay instead of "jeans days"! People that don't feel valued will (and do) leave for better opportunities.
