    Pros

Cool security guard and nice building

    Cons

Everyone played favorites and it was very unfair. Unhealthy environment. Sketchy department.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at AMN Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on what department you work in it can be a stable company and have great growth opportunities. You can move from a different department if you want something different. Depending on where transfer the pay can be more which is always a plus

    Cons

There is a high turn around rate depending on what department you are in. Its very well organized but seems like there are always changes being made constantly with little communication until after the change has implemented

    Advice to Management

Management varies in all different departments. Its the managers and supervisors that don't micromanage that has a great team and great outcomes

I have been working at AMN Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Fun coworkers & leaders
    -Ability to rapidly promote
-In depth training before joining your team
    -Cafe with Starbucks in it
-Gym (never used it but it was nice to have)
    -Competitions
-Great for people with a student menatility. If you don't like learning and think you know everything then you'll hit quite a few roadblocks.

    Cons

Not paid enough for the cost of living in san diego. i literally moved from the bay area to san diego to cut costs and ended up way more poor. There is high earning potential but it takes a lot of patience which is hard when im building debt while trying to promote instead of just getting a new job...

Other than that The cons are 100% what you make them here. Everybody is different. If you are reading this looking to trust somebodies negative opinion over how YOU think you will be in the role... sorry to break this to you but this probably isn't the job for you to begin with. It's all about mentality. You need a positive mentality to grow at ANY sales job and this is no different. If you're a goal driven & positive person that believes you can achieve whatever you want to achieve, then apply right now and you will not regret it. No I was NOT paid to write this comment, I just love the positive energy on the sales floor, the negative people don't last and are draining to have in the office.

    Advice to Management

The cubes should have a privacy door or curtain of some sort... this could just be a personal issue, I'm positive that I'm hyper sensitive to energy.... but there should be a cube option to help focus and productivity.

    Pros

Starbucks on site and the cafeteria is nice. . Seems like a good opportunity on paper.... but feels very hollow and superficial once inside... like your working with the Stepford Wives.

    Cons

A training program that has too many trainees packed into a tiny room on top of each other every day, half of which had working computer software and half that didn't., combined with a trainer that seemed to be still managing a team while working on their own book of business and had never trained more than 8 people at a time - their admission. When asking for help you were either told to go get it from someone else or call someone else to find the same trainer sit down for 45 minutes with the next person in line after you. Forget about telling a manager or anyone in a position of power about your concerns - they will plaster a fake Miss America smile across their face and blurt out a number of gems like, 'trust the process... life is what you make it... everyone here wants you to be successful'. And if you're lucky you will be told after continuously seeking out help and not receiving it, that you have offended someone by not feeling supported.

    Advice to Management

Review your management - just because people have been successful at their jobs doesn't make them good leaders. Actually be open to suggestion - four weeks in a training program with software that doesn't work correctly or all the time is ridiculous, especially when you're ultimately told to call IT yourself and handle it. Teach the basic computer functions on working computers to your employees before you have them sit through five day of learning how to 'converse' with other people - you hired these people for their personalities, that will shine through. Get them comfortable on the software so they feel confident on the phones. Set your training manual up sequentially to how you do the training so that your employees can actually utilize it as a quick reference that you tell them to.

I worked at AMN Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You may work remotely at times, some people I worked with were great. Others were equally as poor and miserable.

    Cons

You're not compensated for the amount of work you do, or how hard you work. Very few opportunities for advancement. Very high health insurance rates, rarely bonus, no sick pay or sick days. When you run out of earned PTO, you just don't get paid. You can voice you opinion, but no one listens and no one changes anything. This company seems to promote single females lacking a family or children, while denoting those with families to support.

    Advice to Management

Be more up front when someone interviews. Don't lie and say you'll make so much within a certain amount of time just to get someone to accept a position that is not only fast paced, but requires high attention to detail, long work hours, and very low pay compared to other companies.

I have been working at AMN Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, excellent benefits, some telecommuting options depending on role (typically account management, IT, or the recruitment role). Many opportunities to promote, or if the role isn't a good fit they will utilize you in another department. Excellent leadership, and plenty of opportunities to get involved in the community. Matching donations for Hurricane Harvey.

    Cons

High turnover in recruitment. They don't always offer the most competitive pay package so people go elsewhere. Also there is an average amount of office politics, but it's there nonetheless.

    Advice to Management

Pay your recruiters a living wage. Bonus pay is all fine and dandy, but it is taxed at 40%. Our take home is hard to live off of in San Diego.

I worked at AMN Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Building, good amenities, recently updated PTO plan. 401K, VTO, on-site gym and cafe.

Your peers become your best friends,

    Cons

Leadership promotes their favorite employees, and will often targets those they don't like. It's difficult to develop your career when leadership doesn't like you. There are always changes, and communication isn't clear on when those changes go into effect. High workload, and little to no leadership support when you don't have bandwidth. You'll find the most success here if you agree to do more work when you're already stretched too thin.

It's a popular occurrence when employees get pushed or bullied out of the company, if a leader doesn't like you.

Cross departments continue to struggle to get along.

If you "speak up", HR supports leadership and management decision versus hearing out team members.
