    Pros

Depending on what department you are in, the people are great to work with, its a good stepping stone to a better career

    Cons

Upper management does not care about its employees, some departments have poor leadership and do not recognize your hard work and are therefore a revolving door of scientists

    Advice to Management

Be honest to you employees about your plans for the company and listen to your employees when they have suggestions to make AMRI better. People constantly leave for a reason.

I have been working at AMRI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work with highly professional, intelligent people, on challenging chemical processes.

    Cons

Upper management is obviously working towards bullet points on their resumes, without any thought to leaving a healthy thriving company.

Expansion by acquisition at the expense of building a strong healthy company seems to be the corporate direction. No value placed on employees until Regeneron cut deeply into talent where it hit quarterly numbers. Then a lukewarm to insulting response.

Example after example of "penny smart and dollar stupid".

    Advice to Management

Change corporate goals from achieving Wall Street Quarterly numbers to building a happy customer base. Achieve this by keeping your talent.

    3. no rewards - no bonuses - no real salary increases

    Advice to Management

I have been working at AMRI (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Experience
Coworkers generally dedicated, well beyond how well they are valued.

    Cons

Bids written with no sense of the actual work we do. Instrumentation is required to do the work which doesn't exist. Infrastructure is aging, no service contracts for HPLCs, antiquated labs and equipment. Hard work is not rewarded or recognized.

    Advice to Management

Spend 1 week in lab and see how we make do with what little we have.

    Cons

Too much Corp BS to deal with. Cronyism and political infighting at the top destroying the company

    Advice to Management

Tom D'ambra needs to step in and take back control .Teva cronyism is destroying everything he built. Personal greed and short term focus at the senior level are killing the place

    Pros

Good salary for Albuquerque. You get to work in the pharmaceutical field which is rewarding.

    Cons

Site management has not been consistent. There is talk about change, but no strategy imparted so no one knows how they can be a part of the strategy.
Firing people and ruling by fear is not leadership.

    Advice to Management

The business is more than just numbers. It is run by humans. If you invoke a sense of pride and understanding on how they can influence the business, you can get so much more out of them. Instead what you get is pounding and yelling about how everyone is wrong. How about look in the mirror and figure out what you can change to get a better team.

    Pros

Opportunity to learn new things and train. Make a lot of contacts at customer sites.

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid. Employees are not evaluated evenly across the company and departments. Overall, management has little or no idea how lower employees perform.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to expand and do a good job running the business at the current or smaller size.
