I have been working at AMRI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Offers full time positions in a field that is notorious for hiring temps.

    Cons

I haven't found any yet. Although I'm sure they exist.

I have been working at AMRI full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, opportunity to explore technology and software, tremendous opportunity to make an impact to a global enterprise. Not your traditional IT shop, ambitious and open minds required and highly desired.

    Cons

So much work to do globally, sometimes it hard to stay focused.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time engaging employees in smaller groups to continue to raise moral and minimize distractions.

I have been working at AMRI as a contractor

    Pros

    - Headquartered in Albany, NY and not looking to leave, so no concerns about displacement like having entire departments move to to another city if you're from here
    - Great exposure to C-level individuals
    - Small enough company where everyone can know your name
    - Leadership will get to know your goals and help develop a plan towards getting there
    - Lots of office celebrations! You work with great people who care about you.
    - A lot of growth within the organization so great opportunities for career advancement
    - Leaders who will fight for what your department needs.

    Cons

Some of the technology we have needs to be updated. We would greatly benefit from having more access to newer technologies to stay current.

    Advice to Management

Be cognizant of market trends and market values for the different types of individuals. in order to keep A-players, make sure that you are paying A-player salaries. Look at the overall big picture in cost savings and think longer-term.

I have been working at AMRI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay, but you need to advocate for yourself. Managers won't hand out raises - you need to display success and make sure you ask for raises when appropriate.

The environment is relatively laid back, but expectations are high across the business. You will be asked to do quite a bit but will gain a huge amount of experience in the process. Great place to work for a few years on the way to somewhere else.

    Cons

Managers are often good employees but not exceptional managers. You need to look out for yourself. Not the friendliest environment.
