I have been working at AREVA as an intern

    Pros

Some of the work was challenging. Good advice from managers. High regard for safety.

    Cons

A lot of busy work. Could have used more guidance while there.

I worked at AREVA as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, good experience, the team lead was very helpful, the employees are generally very nice

    Cons

Getting to the job site is a nightmare, I worked on the MOX project on the actual nuclear site. The project looks like it's dying, the atmosphere is a bit depressing.

I worked at AREVA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work environment with an attractive culture and work/life balance. Great opportunities for mentorship and knowledge transfer. Direct management is engaged without being interfering.

    Cons

Industry Downturn has lead to significant staff reductions and, in my opinion, an unsustainable drive to reduce overhead and internal costs in order to remain competitive. Conflicting messages from upper management regarding company priorities and direction has caused uncertainty with staff in the last year.

I have been working at AREVA full-time

    Pros

This company has always been a great place to work. Great pay, great benefits, great people, and interesting work. Incredible diversity and until recently invests tremendously in their employees.

    Cons

The nuclear services industry has been shrinking and it is much more competetive. AREVA has a niche in this industry for specialized work but utilities are kicking the can down the road for specialized projects due to their own limitations. There have been many reductions lately to remain competetive.

    Advice to Management

Employees are in the dark about the direction management is taking. We all want to align ourselves with the changes being made.
