I have been working at ARINC full-time

    Pros

dynamic, they do look to make the best use of superior talent collegial environment. its a long transition with RC but they are open and determined to improve.

    Cons

they can take a long time to convert contractors. not always forthright. some get frustrated. too bureaucratic.

    Advice to Management

consider moving closer to DC / Virginia to attract talent. Annapolis is a little insular and effects culture (both good and bad).

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good Company but set in their ways and resistant to change

    Cons

Just go with the flow, don't try to improve anything and you will be fine. Don't try to Innovate or improve things. Sycophants will feel right at home here.

    Advice to Management

The company is managed for short term numbers only. No long term vision or direction.

    Pros

Mostly interesting work and projects. Nice people to work with. A lot of cool things can be learned.

    Cons

Contractors are always a 2nd sort, and the company often reminds about this. Not on purpose, I believe, but you can definitely feel it.

Contractors cannot use the gym, contractors cannot use the side-doors of the office buildings, contractors usually are not invited on the meetings.

The most nasty thing is when you receive a corporate email regarding the whatever interesting activity within the company, you apply, and then the manager tell you that you cannot participate because this is for the full-time employees only.
Why you include contractors in these emails then?

    Advice to Management

Leave the full-time - contractor employee differences for the paper.

I worked at ARINC (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, most mid-level management is of good quality, even after the acquisition by RC in 2014. Work can be interesting and challenging. It was still a great place to work even after the acquisition. Your experience will depend greatly on what products/services you support. RC may have added a new level of bureaucracy, but they are professional

    Cons

Home grown upper management is struggling. Expectations were that after the acquisition the former CEO's cronies would disappear, but RC kept or promoted up those that should have been kept on a tighter rope. RC may still be trying to determine what it actually bought, and how to quietly jettison the underperforming products/services/people that were well hidden by the former CEO. John Belcher is gone despite what this site says, so that is a Pro.

    Advice to Management

If it isn't a core competency and you are not a market leader, get out of that business. You are not rewarding your good performers if you keep the poor ones.

    Pros

Great company and management to work for. Family oriented. From a technical stand point, they believe if it isn't broke, don't fix it, so some of the technology is older.

    Cons

    no comments at this time.
