    Pros

Staff discount off shopping only thing decent.

    Cons

Started a Seasonal Temp 16 hours.Which meant 52 hours over Xmas totally spoiled my Xmas!
Team Leaders bullied you into working what suited them. They kept ringing me to come in on my days off and threatened you with your job when you couldn't come in. When I finished my shift they wanted to keep you working with no notice! The company use you to get what they want and don't care about you at all. Very different to what they say at the induction.I did get a 8 hour contract for a Saturday after Xmas ( big deal as all they wanted was tons of hours from you over Xmas) I lasted 3 months then they decided to just put me in 5 hours on a Saturday and 3 hours on a Sunday. How to spoil your weekend! I hated it as they just messed you around none stop! I hated it so i left and got another job...a job that respects me..very happy now.

    Advice to Management

Stop saying how the company are caring. I needed more hours and no one at all helped - no one listened no one cared. Please tell me could they live off 8 hours a week?
Management couldn't run a corner shop!
Team Leaders are bullies need sorting out before you have no staff left.!!

I worked at ASDA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

none at the time of employment

    Cons

bullying / intimidation at time of employment

    Advice to Management

Treat staff like human beings not machines or children, managers seem to have there favorites and lie about the staff they do not like, telling them they are useless and costing the company money, then when you resign they beg you to come back, if you was so bad they would except your resignation not send begging letters.

    Pros

    The Colleagues make it bearable.

    Cons

    The Management make it unbearable.

    Advice to Management

You get paid alot more than your average worker yet it is us that keeps the company moving on a laughable wage.
My advice to management would be stop sitting around all day doing nothing and actually earn the bloated salaries you get!

I have been working at ASDA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good pay
    - 10% discount on everything except fuel after 12 weeks

    Cons

    - Toxic environment between section workers, section leaders and managers
    - Lack of equipment for work that requires it such as printers, Telxons and omni trolleys
    - A plethora of favouritism from Section Leaders, especially where there is a potential relationship involved
    - A clearly defined hierarchy as superiors place themselves up on a pedestal above their subordinates
    - Section Leaders are abusive if the tasks they set (which are often unrealistic) are not completed by the time they expect
    - No real goals from one day to the next
    - Work becomes very monotonous
    - Lack of training besides some videos on the introductory day
    - No real sense of belonging or purpose
    - Unrealistic expectations from management
    - Often overworked and left extremely fatigued, even after a 4 hour shift
    - Management believe that no one has a social life outside of work
    - Lazy work from management shoves the consequences of their actions onto their subordinates and blames them for not getting the work done
    - Someone needs to give the managers a f*cking A-Level Business textbook because the information in it means that I could probably run that sh*thole in Peterborough better singlehandedly than they could.

If all of this doesn't give you a reason not to work at ASDA, you NEED to get your head checked.

    Advice to Management

Set REALISTIC targets and do not look down on subordinates by treating them as equals.

I worked at ASDA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people who I mainly worked with I would consider friends, great to work with.

    Cons

    - No loyalty from senior management.
    - No one is replaced who leaves.
    - You can't live on the pay.
    - In my first year they tried to pull a fast one on £200 of my wages.
-Long hours and hardly any break time.
    - Always an excuse why I couldn't take annual leave.
    - You will be overworked and underpaid.
    - When customers are rude, expect no support from Senior Management.

    Advice to Management

Things need to change! The right to annual leave should be respected. There needs to be more respect for workers. You don't need some overpriced project manager to implement cultural changes, senior management just needs to show more empathy to colleagues.
