I have been working at ASML full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of its research and manufacturing sections is located in Wilton, CT, on the Eastcoast of US. ASML has its main section in Dutch. The colleagues are quite nice and creative. I enjoy the corporate culture in this company. Another thing that I appreciate this company brings me is the soft skills trainings, which is very helpful for personal development as well.

I think it is a good company to develop a nice career path.

    Cons

You can be confused at the management structure at the very beginning, especially as a new employee. But gradually, I start to figure out the advantages of current managing structure. This can help company keep productive while value people at the same time.

    Advice to Management

I would like to thank my GL and PL first and I do think he did a very job on guiding people as well as controlling projects. But I heard from other departments or teams that not all the managers have the same wise management style, which would depress and stress out some of our smart and hard-working employees. Please take some actions to have the not-so-good managers to learn from the very good managers.

    Pros

This company employs highly qualified engineers and pursue the Cutting Edge Technology in their field. Very professional and at the top of the game.

    Cons

This is a very competitive business which has to endure periodic downturns which result in cyclic employment for most of the staff.

    Advice to Management

Continue to expand in the world arena and do not succumb to being bullied by Intel or any other major player.

I worked at ASML full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Collectively, the IQ of this company is probably over 120. Very smart people working towards a common goal. In my 9 years with this company, they went from being #7 in the world to being #1 in the world at designing, marketing, manufacturing, servicing, installing, and supporting the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing machines on the planet.

    Cons

You either need an advanced degree, or very specific experience to get in. Advancement opportunities are far an few between for people like me (transplanted from a corporate take-over, no specific engineering degree...)

    Advice to Management

Ok. You're a Dutch company. Suits, ties, very polite, etc... My advice? Loosen up a little.

I worked at ASML full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

i had the chance to work with some of the smartest people on the planet, and was made better for it. There is nothing like working at a major semiconductor manufacturer R&D facility, where the engineers and scientists were working with our machines to produce cutting edge semiconductor designs and processes. Hours were long, but very busy. People were great!. Growth is unlimited. Benefits were outstanding.

    Cons

Some really long hours (but well compensated!).

    Advice to Management

None, really. I was treated very well, even when being laid off.

    Pros

Great atmosphere with people nearby, yet some privacy to focus on the work at hand. Hours are flexible depending on your shift and group schedule.

    Cons

Sometimes too busy to give much attention to interns, but this also seems to be depending on the group you are in.

    Advice to Management

As an intern, I found that while at times management was busy due to pressing matters, everyone was otherwise very accessible and helpful. Since this varies from group to group, I cannot advise about groups outside of the one I was in.
