    Pros

People were good to work with. Salary and benefits were good.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great place to get training, earn good money, and have them provide benefits-401k-and tuition reimbursement. I learned many of my skills from this company.

    Cons

Lay offs constantly. Upper management really have no clue how stores work. Non-Market promotions are the only way to move up. Only outsiders come into your own market. Honestly not a place for a career anymore. Outsourcing jobs. Very different than years before.

    Advice to Management

Give reasonable expectations on quota, praise when it's met, and realize certain products just have no point of being sold. Also upper management needs to promote within market. If not surplussed I would have left. Now I got paid to leave.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The job offers flexible hours with the opportunity for advancement. It also allows you to learn emerging products and offer the latest services

    Cons

The goals are constantly moving. In any given month the quota may change 2 or 3 times. In addition the fear of surplus is always on us

    Advice to Management

    Be transparent

I have been working at AT&T (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Once you're in, you're set up be a lifer. There is a lot of job stability with a company this size. As a young person, you're valued highly because they're aren't many of us. With this, you're guaranteed to rise the ranks quickly if you work hard.

    Cons

AT&T is still stuck in the past a bit. The corporate offices need some work and you're to be grateful there's even coffee available in the break room. In addition, our systems and processes are quite outdated and make closing sales difficult. They've been slow to automation and (ironically that they are a technology company) slow to adopt some of the tech they sell. Many people seem to get complacent and don't want to take responsibilities for errors because of how difficult the corporate post sales cycle is. Lastly, because of the size of the company, it's difficult to feel like you're making an impact when you make suggestions regarding fixing my above listed "cons." You're allowed to suggest different ways of doing things, but the changes of your suggestions being heard are low--it's a long road from a senior sales executive (me) to higher leadership (our VP-CEO).

    Advice to Management

Create a more streamlined post sales cycle; update technology internally; add more to budget for team building and ways to keep employees happy.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Through my 15 year carer with AT&T I have been blessed to have been able to work along side so many wonderful and amazing people. This company afforded me the opportunity to build a strong professional values and ethics. They spend a lot of time and money to educate, train and develop their employees.

    Cons

I have been through many employment surpluses with this company. Pay scales have decreased throughout my time with the company and it has become very difficult to consistently increase your yearly income with this company.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My work family is the best. I truly can say that I wouldn't have the skill set I have now if it werent for AT&T.

    Cons

They eliminated the RAE position so all of us are getting surplused. It's been so heartbreaking and I don't want to step down into a role I had a long time ago.

    Advice to Management

I loved the upper management I had. I will keep in touch with them as I have grown to value them as friends.
