    Pros

    Money is decent if you are willing to employ shady business practices
    Good benefits and 401K match
    No accountability

    Cons

    AT&T incentives a lack of accountability in the sales team.
    Management has been there too long and they don't have any innovation or competition internally so very stagnant work environment
    Broken systems make it very difficult to execute internally
    Does not support equality or transparency -> no values or ethics
    Marketing runs the business, very disconnected from their customer
    Constant lay-offs and reorgs
    Company is based in TX so doesn't have that innovative, progressive, agile culture that most tech companies need to stay competitive

    Advice to Management

    Trim the middle management fat and promote the young up and comers who are ready to shake things up.
    Stand for something other than the company's image

    Pros

    Stable organization, job security, depending on the organization and management, you can work self sufficiently without micro management as long as you're doing well in your job, lots of potential opportunities

    Cons

    Very little flexibility due to old systems, compensation incentives sometimes don't really align to sales goals, not enough sales support

    Advice to Management

    As a tech company, AT&T is very old school. Feels like it's always a bandaid fixing big issues instead of getting to the root cause of issues.

    Pros

    Great compensation and some of the people are awesome.

    Cons

    Awful ethics from retail employees. Selling tablets to people under false pretenses. Not worried about their customers. Only worried about their sales goals. If you missed your sales goals for 2 months, you got a write up. If you missed it again, you were fired.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on being a service company that takes care of their customers. Also, put some more towers up!

    Great discounts for employees. However prices do change.

    No growth opportunities. You remain in the same position for the most part.

    Pros

    Great company to gain experience, but very tough to stay with. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. Great experience and benefits.

    Cons

    Very stressful. I have worked here for 12 years and the stress is well above average. I really wish I could leave work at work! Stop trying to get more work for less pay. Compensation should reflect performance.

    Advice to Management

    Unfortunately your direct manager had no more control over your work load than you do. Changes need to be made at the C level.

    Great Benefits, Good insurance and great pay and bonuses

    Cons

    No stable job environment
    High turnover and continuous unexpected layoffs
    High stress to sell products and services and make quota
    Management has poor communication skills

    Advice to Management

    Senior management does not have proper experience to lead middle managers and are always clueless about what is really going on --- more transparency is needed.

    Pros

    Decent pay, little travel.

    Cons

    Many managers at the state and regional level have little to no experience in sales, and are put in their positions because of connections within the company and their willingness to be obedient.

    Sales objectives and quotas change dramatically from month to month, and many times, the sales teams don't know their quotas until half way through the month. In addition, there is a reoccurring theme of firing sales people and relocating their quotas to the remainder of the team, instead of back-filling the empty position. Management has a hard time understanding why their salespeople have trouble hitting a two-person quota...

    Customer service would rather pass customer problems on to the customer's assigned account managers, instead of handling issues themselves (i.e. doing their job). Its very difficult to have a productive sales day when you're handling customer service issues that you had no part in causing.

    Advice to Management

    If you want positive sales results, hire managers with sales experience, who understand how sales cycles work and can grasp the technology without having to be trained by their employees.
