I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company van, free tv service (Only because grandfathered from Directv but not now with AT&T)

    Cons

unorganized, inconsistent data reporting, constant adding new responsibilities but not properly compensated.

    Advice to Management

Would not advise because AT&T is downsizing the DirecTv devision.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    decent pay, good vacation structure.

    Cons

sleazy sales tactics, incompetent management, future of company is extremely murky.

    Advice to Management

management needs to inform their bosses on what really goes on in a retail store. most of management is lazy, incompetent and only became managers by sleazy sales tactics and kissing rear end. all managers go by the idea of plausible deniability, i.e., if i didn't see it happen, then it must've not occurred.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great place to work

    Cons

Ever since DTV was purchased that’s all they care about. They promote people for getting good numbers with fraudulent DTV and ESPECIALLY DTVNOW transactions like management was telling them to do. Then, the employees who work ethically get ridiculous write ups.

    Advice to Management

Speak up to the area managers when they are being unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your people better.

    Cons

Retail Hours, schedule based off seniority, very demanding in regards to performance. training program changed, so new employees have to pick up at a faster pace.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Stability, Union, & Free Phone Service. Decent co-workers.

    Cons

Demanding whiney customers and even worse managers. Saw so much shady ish take place to simply game the system for the district manager to be off.of the store manager and assistant managers backs. Their big manipulation was their home automation system 'digital life' which wasn't ideally suited for sales in a retail store that sold tablets and cellphones.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your boots on the ground and stop messing with commission structure to keep people guessing.

    Cons

Cannot think of one con about my company

    Advice to Management

Continue providing education to staff, it's appreciated!

    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

opportunity to earn good commission checks if you sell to the comp. plan; flexibility to work remotely; good company benefits for 401k, full health/dental/vision insurance from onset; tuition assistance for employees who wish to go back to school

    Cons

sales quota's can be largely unrealistic depending on the market or segment; managers can lack product/service portfolio knowledge; difficult internal processes that delay sales; realistically need to work late into the evening (remotely, albeit) just to stay afloat; have to manage customer service, escalations, sales quota, revenue growth, trainings, pricing proposals. Difficult to transfer to another regional office despite being told you have the flexibility for justifiable causes (family, masters degrees, etc)

    Advice to Management

Eliminate grey area's in proceedures, processes, account ownership. Centralize all transfer employees through HR, not individual hiring managers. It's completely unprofessional to allow an employee whose release was approved by management to wait for month and months on end without an outcome, then ask them to resign because not a single AT&T HR staffer or hiring manager contacted the employee.
