I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Money, benefits, room for growth if you were born for sales

    Cons

If you are a sales rep, you must sell. So you have to push every product, even if the product sucks, or customer doesn't need it. You have to sell. If you are not selling - you gonna be out very soon. Also, customers are your time wasters if they came just for a service transaction (not sales). So you'll try to get rid of it as soon as possible. And catch a cust who buys. Stressful all the time. It's getting harder to earn comission every month, especially after they bought dtv. Also att states that they have better service, each account that ive opened, i have customers calling me and telling how much att sucks in metro new york area. I'm out.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is good, the extra perks (free phone, reward points) are nice, and the benefits are pretty great.

    Cons

Customers get VERY angry about their cell phones and take it out on the reps, upper management puts a lot of pressure on employees to hit sales goals, long hours on your feet

    Advice to Management

Ease up on sales goals for "strategic" products. Customers are wising up to the fact that most of them are a rip off, and it makes reps jobs more difficult.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - There are a lot of good, hard-working people who also hate their jobs
    - They're lenient about working from home

    Cons

    - Terrible pay. If you're hired through another company being acquired, they won't raise your pay to match your colleagues and you'll make less than half of your team's average pay while being expected to do the same work
    - Awful management. Managers will lie and spread gossip that your education credentials are false.
    - Hostile environment. People will yell, scream, and insult you on a daily basis.
    - No job growth. The company refuses to pay for any kind of industry standard training and you max out your career path quickly.
    - Bad work life balance. 60 hour weeks are the expected norm.

    Advice to Management

    Equal pay for equal work.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, benefits, benefits! Full medical, over 80 hours of paid vacation, free company phone, 50% off discount off of your your consumer account, and union. Great salary plus uncapped commission potential.

    Cons

Very hard to get a lateral transfer, too much politics, company under appreciates their employees. Very poor attendance remorse system (i.e no sick days) Any paid time off has to be requested/approved in advance, otherwise you have to go through Family Medical Leave Act or get penalized.

    Advice to Management

Fix the attendance system, give employees x amount of sick days before you penalize them. Show appreciation for your team by having team outings (i.e bowling, dave and busters, buffalo wildwings, etc.)
