    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, compensation, no traveling, decent hours

    Cons

Layoffs are a regular occurance because they don’t want to pay people. They’d rather hire cheap overseas. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been a great asset or a solid employee. Once you hit 15+ years, you go to the chopping block. They give 90 days to get another job & then pull all of them. Sad.

    Advice to Management

Good luck when no one knows what they are doing because you drove all the talent out.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work environment, work from home option and good benefits, great culture to advance your career in different aspects

    Cons

Worry about surplus on your position on a yearly basis, lots of politics in work environment, lots of departmental reorganized on a yearly basis

    Advice to Management

Quality people are hard to find, surplus gets rid of quality resources, and too much politics are played when deciding a position.

You will get to work on leading edge software technology with good benefits, including a wealth of different training options.

    Cons

You can get burned at this fast paced company. As a management employee, you have to agree to be available to serve as a front line technician in the event of a work stoppage.

    Advice to Management

Be careful to keep a culture where employees feel valued.

    - good benefits
    - able to work from home on occasion

    Cons

    - virtually no work culture in Bay Area office
    - below-market salaries

I have been working at AT&T (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Wages, benefits, training, a Job Direct discount

    Cons

Directorso talk so negative to there employees and support group. They expect you to be super human while they sit around and play work. And I mean play work! Horrible collaboration.

    Advice to Management

Take diversity training. I can not understand how this company rank high in diversity when when the workforce is lopsided with internationals.
