I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are good, opportunity for development and growth are there in management. Lots of opportunities and good benefits plus perks for meeting targets.

    Cons

Favoritism only management gets promoted, higher-ups have favorites at times and many issues with the union. Lots of hours and no work life balance for management.

    Advice to Management

Start looking at people who have skills with people management rather than just being able to sell. Many opportunities are missed due to favoritism issues

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company works well until it does not. I was mislead about when to sign up for health benefits and was unable to get them for over a year even though my manager made numerous attempts to help me but nothing. They also told me that because my name in the pc system was Phil but my actual name was Philip that I was not able to reduce any employee discounts for internet, cable, in store Merch, and cell service. They made me pay full price for over 2 years!!!

    Cons

They don't care about you unless you lie or cheat to make a sale. If you make them money it's all good but struggle a little bit and they throw you out for going to the bathroom or any little thing.

    Advice to Management

Focus in customers and not on your bank accounts.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Connected to every business, opens doors and opportunities. Management focused on the BIG picture. Good for someone who is patient about trying to accomplish things.

    Cons

Functional management, slow to get things done, difficult to get simple things approved.

    Advice to Management

Keep printing money while trying to balance the need to execute day to day.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a job if you have nothing else to go for it will keep food on your table but that's it and don't expect to be home to eat it

    Cons

You get to watch people make double what you do and do half the work knowing you'll never get that. Everything they do is designed to keep you moving as fast as possible and God forbid you get hurt because that's your fault.

    Advice to Management

    Quit being sheep

    Pros

Union, Benefits, people, and relocation oppourtunities.

    Cons

The compensation is not so good now. They are cutting jobs left and right and it makes me feel uncertain about my future with AT&T. When I first started I loved my job, but now not so much.

    Advice to Management

You can't just talk to people any sort of way.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Health insurance, vision and dental are super affordable. Increasing pay at least every 6 months by union bargained schedule. 6% 401k company match was awesome AND pension benefits after some time.

    Cons

Constant change in commission structure to seemingly pay you less. High pressure on mgmt trickles down to the reps. Only care about what you did yesterday and what you're doing today. Seniority doesn't matter to most managers. Continually less employee specials or offers.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on your reps! Don't reward someone ONLY based on numbers. I've seen too many "sharks" get promoted and they give ZERO thought to the company or the customers that they lie to just to get ahead. I gave 5 dedicated, hard-working years to what I thought was a great company only to be "worked out the door" by the subjective observation policy in place that can be manipulated by management. I never thought I would say a bad word about AT&T, but now I'm working for a REAL communications provider who really CARES about their employees! My eyes have been opened!!
