I worked at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

Commission, pay, opportunity to grow if you are self driven

    Cons

High quotas and constantly changing management.

    Advice to Management

Quotas tend to be ridiculous. Expectation at the store is to only sell, but when an angry customer comes in, you cant always turn it around and make it a sale. You are still with them for hours at times. Management doesn't seem to realized how difficult it can be.

I have been working at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

The company provides great pay and benefits as long as you have a job.

    Cons

No loyalty to employees. How does one of the most successful and powerful telecommunications employers in the nation justify layoffs after spending billions in acquisitions, mergers, and network improvements?

    Advice to Management

Take care of you employee base and show them a long term commitment to keeping them employed. Do not use layoffs as a tool to meet performance metrics for bonuses and profitability. Increase the employee performance incentive percentage and the number of company holidays/PTO days. .

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay and union

    Cons

They do not care about your life outside work. If you ate sick AT&T dose not give you paid sick days. Instead there is a point system 1 point per day you ate sick, the points only fall off after 1 year. So if you ate sick, have family emergencies that required you to leave work etc, and you reach 7 points in 1 year you are fired.

    Advice to Management

    Stop micromanaging!!! It's beyond crazy

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, great people, great products, great services. Lots of incentives.

    Cons

Just like any other retail...long hours, sometimes unrealistic expectations. upper management detached from the front lines, local area managers out of touch, managers make up their own rules that are not on par with national message.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of old managers that have the "old school" management style of "do as I say, not as I do", too many managers manage by fear, no heart all sales sales sales.
