    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay was decent and benefits we good haven't paid full price for tv or phone for 10 years

    Cons

ineffective management in the local centers. high turn over in reps due to the managers. My team alone lost 14 people in 6 months versus the 2 oe so on other teams.

    Advice to Management

review the number of people departing from specific managers would be a huge indicator of issues happening. several long term employees were not thinking about making changes until assigned to a certain team.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Money was great, benefits were decent. The amount of the time off was outstanding.

    Cons

When hired for "Customer service" what it really means is that you will try to sell 3-4 different products to every customer regardless of why you are talking to them. Even if they are calling in to cancel their dead grandmothers cell phone you are expected to sell them TV and internet services. I understand the need to sell but there are lines that shouldnt be crossed morally. And when you pitch the same directv package to a customer every month for 2 years they get a mad. Mad enough to even cancel their cell phone just so they dont have to hear about tv services anymore.

    Advice to Management

Ease up on the required selling part. If it happens naturally then great, but if customers are calling to CARE for help, then dont make them madder.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

medical and dental benefits , discounts on products

    Cons

Racism toward non-blacks , abusive atmosphere undermines productivity , dishonest managers , favorites rarely working. No diversity ;every manager is black. Forced overtime.

    Advice to Management

No matter how hard you work or how good a job you do , we are always waiting for punishment over some manufactured falsehood. You can't be an effective leader unless people trust you.
