I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

AT&T embraces diversity in every way
Reasonably secure employment (although in IT, you must now be in Bothell WA, El Segundo CA, or Dallas TX)
    Decent training available

    Cons

If a decision is made at a high level, you have no access to address/change
In a company of 330k there is a degree to which you are a number
    Cuts in tuition reimbursement

    Pros

AT&T is one of the largest, leading technology organizations in the world. If you're a tech savvy person who enjoys working with the latest, cool stuff. It's worth checking out.

    Cons

Still a number of legacy processes and systems that can bog things down.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

In September 2017, it was a honor to be in one place in Dallas, Texas at our ERG Conference and be amongst thousands of AT&T employees who give so willingly of their personal time to help those in the community.

In addition, words cannot express how it felt to be in the presence of our Chairman/CEO, Randall L. Stephenson, and so many other Leaders in our organization who value, encourage and support the work we do.

I am so proud to work for a company who is making a difference in our communities by having employees engaged.

    Cons

There are always cons in every work place. However as an individual, I have the responsibility to turn a con into a positive.

    Advice to Management

AT&T needs to be the leader in taking our Employee Resource Group to a new level. Even though we are involved in our communities and making a difference, people are not getting out of their current situation.

As I am working in my community in Detroit, I am discovering these agencies are not holding accountability to the individuals. How can we expect change if the people we are helping are not changing? Our Mind is the most powerful thing that is in our possession. People have to believe they can be better and get out of their situation. However, it requires work. Work that is difficult to do because it requires we may have to change our behaviors, life styles, thoughts, and face our fears. However if these individuals had mentors to help them persevere, they can overcome their challenges. Sometimes the things we fear or resist is the thing we need the most.

I am going to keep speaking these words until someone pays attention as I feel this is the only way we are going to make a real change in our community.

I am going to say because I believe it --> Once AT&T steps forward and gets more involved in the community, other companies are going to step forward.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary is great and so are the bonuses. Nice break areas and clean restrooms. Most of the managers are helpful. Upper management is very understanding when it comes to your personal life. There is an opportunity for you to change your schedule every few months. Which gives you a chance to have a life.

    Cons

Rest Room breaks. You only have 2 minutes to go to the restroom. The breaks are short & the area you have your breaks are far so by the time you get in the break room your break is over.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more understanding to people's natural needs.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This was my first time attending this conference and all I can say is amazing. The energy and the commitment of the leadership team was extraordinary. I learned so much and met so many amazing people. I gain a sense of pride that I never had for the company and it no longer was viewed as a job for me because I finally felt like I mattered and the company cared. The most impactful moment for me was helping to build 2 playgrounds for the community. Not only do the company want us to transform together but together we were able to help transform a community.

    Cons

The only con for this event for me is that some communication was sent out the day before the event that if you are nonmanagement you wouldn't receive since we cannot access our work email outside of our work hours

    Advice to Management

To find a bigger venue so more employee can experience this awesome event.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They train you well and pay you well. Training was really fun and in my dept (retention) they gave us Pay Protect, which is extra $ on top of your hourly because during training you can't earn commission. The job wasn't really hard, just wasn't for me.

    Cons

The environment is very competitive which may not be for everybody. Most customers are upset and threatening to cancel svcs which affects your pay. Many coworkers fail to do their jobs thus making customers more angry once they talk to you.

    Advice to Management

I think managers do a pretty good job with what they have.
