I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great place to work and able to balance work/life balance. Tons of opportunity for advancement. Many employee resource groups to join and be able to network and find mentorships throughout our AT&T community.

    Cons

Can sometimes be political and is a big company.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Engineers get a free phone with unlimited data, and sometimes can get free tickets to concerts and games at the venues where we provide indoor mobile network

    Cons

We were not allowed to have merit-based raises, so in my 3 years, I was making less than entry-level employees because the rate at which entry-level salaries increased was much higher than the regular annual increase regular employees were allowed. I was also the youngest by 20 years and the only woman and was constantly treated so regardless of my merit

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of growth and resources available to be successful. It's like a big family and I'll definitely miss everyone and all the great benefits.

    Cons

None, the only reason I left was because my position was part of a surplus. It's a great place to work...

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing a great job!!!

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Training at AT&T cannot be matched by many companies. They really invest in their employees knowlegde base. It is not a one time deal the training and information is ongoing and it makes you a success.

    Cons

The AT&T politics acts like a cancer because those who suggest good idea's or better ways of doing things are totally ignored. The managers have serious "trust" issues with their direct reports and should never have hired those individuals if in fact they feel they cannot be trusted.

    Advice to Management

The Sales Managers need to grow up and act mature. I know it is easier said than done but try to break the cycle of the school yard.

    Pros

Organized sales organization; company/opportunity growth. I would recommend a sales position with AT&T.

    Cons

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It is a stable place to work, if you work on the wireless side. Less stable if you work in landline. However, the company is motivated to place wireline employees in wireless so they don't have to pay severance.

    Cons

It is difficult to effect change in the business. The company is run from the top down. The top down mentality has hurt the startup spirit that used to exist.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees in the field. You have smart people who care.
