I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great support from the Area and Corporate Team. This company invests a lot into their employees.

    Cons

Some of the deadlines are not realistic and offsets the work/life balance. Very rare but it does happen.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Big company that can move market share when focused. Stable yet wants you to sell "everything in portfolio" Thus minimizing opportunity to accelerate commissions

    Cons

Company is starting to marginalize all compensation. Out of 22 markets only 1 General Manager was over quota.

    Advice to Management

A really strong officer leading new business unit..!!!

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Stable place to work with predictable work pattern and good pay. Culture is positive with a environmentally and social sensitive slant. Employee reskilling is a key effort with sizable investment.

    Cons

There's a lot of bureaucracy as one would expect. Big company, big processes, big compliance programs. Cost containment efforts is leading to quiet force reductions.

    Advice to Management

Keep challenging the risk reward balance. Not every threat is worth limiting employee desertion. Speak as much about growth as you do about cost containment.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ability to climb the corporate ladder if you have proven results. I learned a lot and am grateful for a progressive and successful 17 year career. Would do it again if given the right opportunity.

    Cons

Our division was sold off to a private equity firm and the organization changed along with benefits, compensation and stock options.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Like my team members
    Good amount of Vacation time
    Interesting work
Flexible work hours on my team

    Cons

    Very slow moving company
    Not innovative
Senior leaders are out of touch and favor process over performance
Following process is king, trumps all, adds no value and defies common sense

    Advice to Management

I honestly think it is hopeless. There was an opportunity to adopt the wireless organization's more efficient way of operating, but instead Senior leadership has opted to extend wireline, regulated processes throughout the company.
