I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, continuous learning, and perks if you're located at Corporate.

    Cons

Work life balance has declined in the last 3 years. As we shrink as an overall company the workload on existing employees has increased.

    Advice to Management

    The culture has to improve.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Able to leverage my skills and contribute to the success of the organizations I supported.

    Cons

Migration to large work hubs versus through out the country.

    Advice to Management

Continue spending time training supervising managers

I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

It's easy money, they pay well. At least they did before AT&T bought them. AT&T is pretty cheap though so new contracts in or after 2017 are probably going to be weak there too.

    Cons

It's easy money. You never really learn anything and there's nowhere to go. Everything is segmented and regimented so the talented are highly constrained.

Since the AT&T acquisition this has gotten worse, though at least there's a potential for moving around.

    Advice to Management

I have no idea. I can fix your technical problems, but the stiff, smothering corporate culture you all created here is your bed, you lie in it.

I have been working at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has been fantastic to work for... full of smart, amazing, collaborative people.

    Cons

Recently bought by AT&T... The culture is quickly changing and heading down hill. My ratings are for the DIRECTV culture, not AT&T.
