    Pros

Health Benifits for Single male is good, only cost me on average 30-40 bucks a month.

Pay is decent but nothing amazing and nothing industry leading.

The Iphone saved the company and saves your commission check.

    Cons

First, Look at the other 3 big cell phone companies approval rating and CEO rating before taking a job at ATT, we are the lowest ranked in both.

Although Health Benifits are good they are consistantly increasing in cost and decreasing in performance.

Your pay WILL go down every year, so the first year is the highest paying year you will work, the constant change in comission structure causes pays to decrease accross the board.

Management is a joke, the amount of micromanagement the average employee has to deal with is beyond belief. Expect to have meetings DAILY over the most annoying things, expect to talk about products and services not even offered in your market.

Union is a joke, they are nothing but a puppet organization with no teeth and if I paid dues I would be really pissed.

401K is good at a 6% match but that does not take effect for 3 years, average turnover is 1-2 years.

You start with 2 weeks vacation but taking that time is a huge hassle, I put in a vaction request in Nov for the end of March and it was not approved although someone else vaction was approved at the begining of march.

Quotas are constantly adjusted in an attempt to take more money out of your pocket. Your Accessories per sale and Features per sale are set at extreamly high levels. To think a grandmother or other low maintance individuals will want to pay $60 in cases, which are worth only $10, and $30 in extra features is not realistic.

Not being able to feature flip is a real problem, an iphone 1 year ago got you that $30, but renewing an iphone you have to sell $30 MORE in features.

You can still be written up and fired for taking sick time even if you have sick days.

    NO WORK LIFE BALANCE.

If you work full time you will not beable to go to a traditional college, possibly online school but not traditional college because you are required to be avaliable to work everyday and everytime the store is open.

If you are lucky enough to go part time and go to school if you quit within 3 years of using the employeer tuition remembersment you will be required to pay it all back.

When asking a question to management you are more likely to be deflected then a actual answer.

You will deal with horrible customers who are angry over company policy, your direct management are not always the best, and upper management is the worst you could hope for.

You need to give employees more flexability and trust them, sure some people will abuse but they can be delt with and will improve customer experience.

The hottest phones will always be out of stock for the first 2 months but the apple store will be fully stocked, so the company does not have to pay huge comissions to employees, just another way ATT is attempting to cut courners.

When ATT losses the Iphone the company will be up a creek without a paddle.

    Advice to Management

If you expect your employees to produce at a level, you need to expect the management to also. Management that does not perform at the level they require the employees should be terminated.

The disconnect from Upper, Mid and employees is too large.

The grunt on the ground cares about his paycheck, first and foremost, if you wish to truly improve the customer experience you need to improve store level moral.

Poor marketing, not playing towards your strenghts, and treating your employees like indentured servants is killing the company.

Ask yourself why over the past 2 years ATT stock has fallen more then any other cell phone company even with the monster Iphone back you up.

    Pros

AT&T started out as a great place to work; with decent benefits, acceptable pay until recently, and promised room for advancement.

    Cons

AT&T just does not care about employees; working you long 10, 11, sometimes 12 hour days, cutting commission pay as much as $1500/month in April 2011, and denying time off requests due to lay-off related understaffing.
