Former Contractor - Network Operations Technician in Honolulu, HI
Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO
I worked at AT&T as a contractor (Less than a year)
Pros
Medical, leave, website easy to use
Cons
Keep good records, get everything in writing, low compensation, false cultures, business driven, inaccurate payroll-keep all records till 1 year later, AT&T will send you a over payment letter and threaten collections, certification and training reimbursement are not as simple as promised, gives lots employees the run-around, new contract between different depts took over 4 months and AT&T renigged on the back payment owed and lowered salary by 11k. Lots of excused and broken promises.
Advice to Management
Employees are the lowest paid and lots of false promises

HIGH Pay Opportunity HIGH Commissions Opportunity Great Advancement Opportunities Great Spiffs & Incentive Programs which include travel rewards FULL Benefits for employee and great for family benefits too
Cons
HIGH PRESSURE, HIGH STRESS SALES TO SATISFY SHAREHOLDERS BUT THEY PAY YOU A WHOLE LOT!!! I like to compare it to being the "Umbrella Corporation" :) they pay you A LOT but for a PRICE!!! ZERO WORK/LIFE BALANCE - THE JOB OWNS YOU! SHOULD BE ZERO STARS FOR THIS CATEGORY BUT IT WOULDNT ALLOW ME TO SAVE WITH ZERO STARS! BURNOUT! It wasn't always like this but changed over my career spent with company. Its really all about hitting targets masking it all as "finding out customer needs" but really it's force feeding and bundling EVERYTHING TO AS MANY CUSTOMERS as you can. The sad part is a HUGE part of society has bought into this type of madness. I've watched people NOT pay other important bills to own the newest phone and the highest plans. I've also seen little grandmas sold way too much (they agree to it & are interested....but realistically wont really use it all nor is it a true benefit....except to the salesperson who HAS to hit their quota or get written up if they miss continually) which is when I had to GET OUT! Good job if you are young, ambitious and want to get a GREAT job experience that you can use for future reference or maybe move around in company.....then this might be a great opportunity for you. I don't recommend if you have a family! VERY hard to balance because you WILL bring home the STRESS even when you try not to.
Advice to Management
Hawaii is DIFFERENT from Mainland counterparts. YES...income demographics make a HUGE difference in sales in the area. Unrealistic goals in stores to satisfy shareholders and profits but we are brainwashed to train it as "Uncovering & matching customers needs" but when that doesn't align with quotas...that means team performance is deficient...not that people just don't need "all that".........it's just not right.
