    Cons

A lot of hours away from home and family. Working in severe and extreme weather,As well as dangerous environment which require special safety precautions and measures

    Advice to Management

Employees need more opportunity to receive bonuses in the form of winning contest keeping people involved in promoting comeraderie

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay compared to other retail opportunities. Great benefits. Excellent training. Tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

How you view this large company depends primarily on your supervisor. It's easy to not feel valued unless your management is actually investing in you.
Cross department communication is not good.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to the inspired and engaged surveys. No recommendations I or my team gave were ever implemented. Train your management hierarchy to actually care about their employees (which inspires and engages) instead of trying to convince the employee that they are inspired and engaged. Lastly, give your employees the tools necessary to actually fix the customers issues. I should not have to try and convince a fellow employee to carry out an action (that is right for the customer) that I should have already had the capability to do as an RSM.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent wages. Decent benefits. Nothing outstanding. Maybe the amount of paid time off you can earn based on time in service.

    Cons

Absolutely no work-life balance. Management hasn’t got a clue, because upper management and board of directors are all completely against each other. This so-called communications company has no clue about the direction of this once well respected company. The CEO, is so far out in left field, completely forgetting that his own brother’s job title with the company is going away because of the decisions Randy has made. Randall Stephenson is a political puppet using his own liberalism for personal gain within the company. THERE IS NO CERTAINTY that technician work is heavy or light each day. Nobody has any idea what is going on in the decision making rooms. 1st line managers and technicians are being laid off monthly. This company has absolutely tanked. You can’t think of AT&T as a place to retire from anymore. Good luck.

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of the ground. Start standing up to your directors and area managers. This company will continue to have high churn until somebody’s gets the courage to stand up for the front-line employee. Stop playing into the political junk and supervise like you are supposed to. First line managers have been turned into technicians on salary and all they do is sit in useless safety meetings. YOU CANNOT PREVENT ACCIDENTS! Safety is not something that is learned, it is something that is done. GET A GRIP AT&T!

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Established well known telecommunications company. Standard benefits. Discounts on phone and internet services. Opportunity to work on large systems.

    Cons

Grossly incompetent and inefficient HR department does almost nothing for employee retentions, career development, or finding next position. Job search does not sort by LOCATION or SKILL AREA so hard to find best ways to advance. No advancement in positions, just work till you drop mentality. Very long hours required supporting dying legacy systems, with no opportunity to learn new technology and force to train offshore replacements. Executives out of touch with needs of IT people, and demands from their assistance to not report all hours worked. Very phony and dishonest upper leadership.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and act with integrity. No one is fooled by the BS.

    Advice to Management

Mainly 2nd level and up. Think about your employees family. Recognize that employees are people and not numbers.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits if you were healthy and did not have to take medication

    Cons

Can't afford medication needed to stay alive.
    No job security.
If you did not live in Redmond, WA., Chicago, IL., Atlanta, GA., or Dallas, TX. always worrying about being surplus.
    Just a number to management.
Gave 17 years to company and was thrown out like trash.
No room for advancement unless you are in the good ole boys network from the wireline side.
Managers don't fight for their employees.
Moving jobs oversees, telling government you are adding jobs in America.

    Advice to Management

Get some people who actually care about employees and not just the bottom line.
