    I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    A well balanced company that allows their employees to work from most large cities. Since AT&T is so large you can always move to a new organization and learn something new without leaving the company.

    Cons

    Salary levels don't seem to be competitive especially if you have been with the company a long time. They don't reward their employees enough for exceptional work.

    Advice to Management

    Spend more time reviewing your top and bottom employees. Do a better job at transitioning the lower ones out and reward the top.

    High commission rate with no cap
    Generous benefit package

    Sales force is unionized
    Poor management
    Poor product
    Compete with field sales and often lose commission due to "sales cycle "

    Advice to Management

    It would go along way if you valued your employees accomplishments and realized that when one sale meets your monthly sales quota enough to cover several month's quotas, that the work involved in closing a deal like that requires a tremendous amount of work.

    Also would suggest management training programs.

    Great benefits
    Good opportunities for upward movement
    Good pay
    Can be alot of fun with the right expectations
    They highly promote on likeability (personality can get you far in some departments)

    Cons

    Constant change in compensation (not always good in all departments)
    Lack of Solid management in some cases (not always held accountable and it shows)
    They highly promote on likeability ( sometimes not so great you end up with the wrong person for the job)

    Hold ALL management accountable, not just the ones you dislike

    pay is good compared to other companies,but you have to endure the craziness.

    Cons

    attendance policy-3 strikes and you are out. a minute late from break counts.

    Pros

    Experience with many different types of people in a high speed sales environment. Learn how to deal with a hardball style of management. Very social environment.

    Cons

    Old school type of management, pay scale on a constant downward spiral, they make you work more and get paid less. Unrealistic expectations and goals. Commissions are paid on feature sales mostly. You get charged back on your paycheck for 6 months after you make a sale. Feature codes and pricing is changed about every three months. If your customer goes to a different At&t out of convenience. Every sales person step one is to look at features on the customers account. If the feature code has changed, you end up owing At&t money and someone else steals your commissions. You spend half of your sale times checking your charge backs, When your feature sales drops it affects your percentage which affects your overall pay. our managers treated us like we were bad sales people, but, would not let us spend anytime trying to fix our chargebacks.

    Learn to stop micro managing. Appreciate your employees who get you paid.
