    Pros

    The pay is decent.
    The discounts are pretty good.

    Cons

    The stress:
    Management will tell you to do something, and then next month write you up for the exact same thing.
    -You could be number one in the area, and still not good enough.
    -Customers are rude
    -Required to help the current customer in the store, but still needing to keep in contact with many other customers.

    Good benefits and you don't have to work weekends.

    Cons

    Very high targets, low morale, shift is moving towards 1030-700 for all employees.

    Separate customer service (billing) and sales.

    Management insurance premiums much higher than they used to be and annual deductible increases year over year.

    Downside of Network Support Group, for new platform, and future service and new home site. (Direct TV). CO. and CA.

    The company was great to work with. The job itself was enjoyable and my co-workers were wonderful. The health benefits were very good as well.

    The opportunities for advancement were limited.

    There are some very well educated and well versed representatives that the company is not utilizing their skillsets.

    Pros

    Had a great experience working here for 15+ years. Wonderful coworkers and managers on my team.

    Cons

    They would change procedures, but not communicate those changes until after you were receiving calls from upset customers.
    Major layoffs.

    Advice to Management

    Needed to strengthen the communication between what was changing with plans or issues for customers with the team who directly works with the customers.

    Pros

    When, I day when it was just Directv, all techs were happy, motivated and moral was very good. Pay was very good if you were good at your job. If you do your job not too much interference. If not, you wind up under the microscope.

    Cons

    Everything changed after at&t took over. We were lied to such as: Everything will be business as usual. First thing on the list is they cut my pay by at least 30%. Did not sit well with me or others and alot of us veteran techs walked. Getting to old for that treatment. All aspects became so impersonal and it became so much more of a structured numbers scenario.

    Advice to Management

    AT&T should pay more attention to The old Directv's business model.....read it and learn it.....simple as that. I was told by management that was like trying to steer the Titanic with a canoe paddle. An absolute shame that a great company went south like that.

    Pros

    Gained lots of knowledge and experience and have mastered my craft. Current manager is excellent

    Cons

    Layoffs, 32 hr work weeks every other week mandatory. More work, same pay. Upper management care about nothing bit numbers.

    Advice to Management

    Reporting manager is fine, upper management need to get from behind the computer screen and see what it's like for us out there in the field.
