I have been working at AT&T part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Top notch benefits, discounts on services and select products.

    Cons

Don’t count on having many weekends off, low man on the totem pole gets the worst shifts.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Benefits. Pay. The company does solicit feedback. Sometimes positive change results from the feedback.

    Cons

Bureaucracy. Lack of upward mobility. Poor job security. Surplus of needed workforce. Redundant executives with no telecom experience.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk about 1 billion dollar investment and creating 7,000 new "hard hat" jobs and then annouce a large economic surplus.... Then announce $1,000 bonuses.

    I have been working at AT&T part-time

    Pros

Good pay, higher than industry average. CWA union has your back.

    Cons

I don't like the idea of being fired for not meeting sales goals. A manager admitted to me that 100s of "great employees were let go due to not meeting sales requirements for Digital Life last year". FYI, Digital Life is not even a sales requirement for us anymore.

    Advice to Management

The management at my particular store is great.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The pay is very competitive. Not many local jobs come close to the starting pay as a wire tech. Pay is the only Pro. It's a Catch22.

    Cons

Not worth the stress, increase of blood pressure, and other mental agony that comes with it. Avoid this job like the plague, if possible. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. This company is so divided and works against itself. After 2 years with this place, the biggest thing we all share is that everything is setup to make you fail. 7 out of 10 techs (the other 3 are a teacher's pet) will tell you...

    Advice to Management

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Great pay, benefits, overtime.

    Cons

    Micromanaged, long work hours

    Advice to Management

Value your technicians. They can either make your job easier or harder. They create a face to face connection with customers, and often take the brunt of abuse. The reserve more pay than they receive, and most work their butts of daily. Give them credit when it is due.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

AT&T pays higher than the average job starting out if you can manage to land a spot on their team.

    Cons

Expected to basically run the store and handle all aspects of the business. Goals are constantly changed so they get to pay you less commission every month. The only way to truly hit goals is to skate the boundaries of being unethical and lying. That's why people are so jaded against the carrier's.

    Pros

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Be more realistic in the goals you set for selling the emerging technologies

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great Mid-Level Leadership, supportive team members within direct org and some outside of org.

    Cons

Biggest con is that there are few job opportunities in my geographical area.
