    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Very good salary
Hourly pay with plenty of overtime
    Friendships with coworkers
    Work alone
Get to drive around to get a change of scenery at work
    Meeting interesting new people everyday

    Cons

    Strong micro managing
Prepare to feel like employee #1234 because they care nothing about you and only if you're making your numbers and giving them a bonus
No opportunity to advance from tech to anywhere else since they bring in management straight from college to manage a job that they have never worked and know nothing about
You get no credit for good reviews from customers or anything good you ever do but as soon as you make one mistake you never hear the end of it
Zero work life balance and I mean zero
Kiss your wife and kids goodbye
Start at 8 am and usually work until 10 pm
    Harassment from managers
Managers do nothing at all but micromanage their employees
    High stress levels
Expect you to do your job and theirs
    No help from managers whatsoever
    Filthy customers homes
    Rude customers
    Lying customers
    Climbing ladders on busy streets
Bees snakes critters on side of house and in attics and crawl spaces
Working in all elements including extreme weather
Claim they want you to work safe but rush you the entire time you're there
This job will break you down and test you in so many ways

    Advice to Management

Treat the technicians better because AT&T would be nothing but a cell phone company without them

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They have a great benefits packages and training programs to help develop your career. Flexible with hours and encourage continued education.

    Cons

The gradually declining pay structure was very displeasing. We worked off of hourly and commission. Over the years the pay continued to decrease while the work load increased.

    Advice to Management

Don't just hear your employees, listen to them and encourage their ideas and implement them. Many new policies and programs they are just rolling out we asked them to consider years and years ago.

I worked at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

The work was challenging yet satisfying. The people were great to work with.

    Cons

There is much that could be said. I shall refrain from doing so.

    Advice to Management

It is important to find out the about the interests of those you manage. In this way you can GENUINELY take steps to help them prepare to keep pushing their careers forward. They may be provided with great benefits and be happy where they are, but this is against the nature of reality. Everything either moves forwards or backwards. In my case and the case of the representatives with whom I worked, we were content with where we were. So when the center CLOSED, many if not most of us were ill prepared to keep pushing our careers forward. This is still our fault. I do not place blame on the company. I just seems that it is beneficial to the company as well as the individual if they worked together to determine an employee's goals so everyone involved is in alignment.
