I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (Less than a year)
Room for advancement within the company
Very light daily work load and tasks
Overwhelming feeling of accomplishment being able to work alone

Boss sometimes expects you to find your own work
I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)
High pay and generous union benefits. In this one department we can take time off when we like, but no other group I know of can.
Endless additional rules, requirements, roadblocks, monitoring, tracking, threats...No real job security because they shake up everything as if last quarter's priorities mean nothing this quarter. They expect ever increasing productivity but lease cheaper trucks which aren't designed to do the work we do. One day they suddenly acted as though upper management had just found out that we handle lead jacketed cable (lots of the old stuff is lead) and issued a bunch of rules and procedures, effective immediately, but we have never received the now mandatory gloves, hazmat suits, respirators, etc.
Advice to Management
There's no point, they aren't listening.
I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)
