I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent training curriculum, benefits, and skill development opportunities!

    Cons

Status Quo is highly discouraged. You've gotta be nimble, willing to implement and embrace change, and comfortable with being stretched beyond your comfort zone.

    Advice to Management

Support your Employee Resource Groups, offer more mentoring opportunities, be more candid with wages in comparison to the industry. AT&T is highly competitive in pay and benefits; employees may suffer from "the grass is greener" syndrome.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work . Open culture . Lots of opportunity to learn and work on different things

    Cons

Upward growth is not easy....huge company so you will need more effort for viability. Company is huge so lot of focus is on cost cutting

    Advice to Management

Allow new blood to lead. You have great plans but it doesn't translate for innovation as the structure is still very hierarchical.

    Pros

Great benefits, tuition reimbursement, good creative teams and fun atmosphere.
Telecommuting is allowed and great travel policies. Good management and opportunity to advance

    Cons

Don't get enough holidays off. IT services are poor and discount program is not very good.
Moderate turnover from upper management makes it very hard to determine who is in charge on any given day

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people in the management ranks are very educated and very committed. Their vision is clear and unwavering for both enterprise businesses as well as consumers.

    Cons

Legacy systems and their methods and procedures are outdated as they wind down old services and can be daunting for employees and customers not ready to move to the strategic services.

    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When I first started I was told I could make an average of 65K a year. Benefits, Paid time off, and raises 3xs a year ,until cap is reached. Starting pay was $13.83, cap was $17.83. Commission averaged $2000-2750 a month for a average to good sales rep. Excellent sales reps made as much as $3,600 per month. Protected by Union.

    Cons

At&t no longer offers full-time positions unless you're managment. They restructured the commission, so you'll be lucky to make $1,200 per month in commission. They're trying to do away with benefits and commission.

    Advice to Management

Make a stand. No incentive, no hard working or motivated employees. Working for a wireless company is a lot more stressful than selling laptops at Best buy.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay if you retire fair benefits

    Cons

One size fits all services poor fit to customers. Commission plan Corp theft. We charge that because we are at&t, not competitive in market. Too much reliance on mobile sector, have much stronger market in landline & media segments which are downplayed. Poor direction from leadership.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the real business value people with knowledge of business instead of cost per employee to make money

I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

It's easy money, they pay well. At least they did before AT&T bought them. AT&T is pretty cheap though so new contracts in or after 2017 are probably going to be weak there too.

    Cons

It's easy money. You never really learn anything and there's nowhere to go. Everything is segmented and regimented so the talented are highly constrained.

Since the AT&T acquisition this has gotten worse, though at least there's a potential for moving around.

    Advice to Management

I have no idea. I can fix your technical problems, but the stiff, smothering corporate culture you all created here is your bed, you lie in it.
