I worked at AT&T (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company has great benefits and pays well, which explains why they expect you to adhere to the cons of the company

    Cons

no work/life balance, great benefits that you rarely utilize, unecessary negative stressful environment, employees are just an attuid, unecessary drama-filled environment

    Advice to Management

negative reinforcement is just not the way to go.I never imagined working for what is perceived to be a great company that the environment I was in was extremely negative and acceptable. I may have just been in the wrong dept and/ area.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have been with AT&T 8 1/2 years. If you like a challenging career AT&T will be the right fit. Upper management are always looking to grow the company. With an organization as large as AT&T you have to be ahead of the curve to navigate in new directions. Great benefits, good pay.

    Cons

When I first started the ongoing training was a great tool to stay updated on latest products, now it seems that has been given a low prioriy

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great pay and decent benefits

    Cons

Behind in technology and they do not care about their employees or customers the way Southern Bell and BellSouth ( whom I worked for before the most recent "buy back") did. Instead of moving forward with the buyout of BellSouth to update their systems, They reverted back to their old stuff and behind way of thinking.....You are just another number not a "person" in their eyes.... I worked for BellSouth many years and felt like we were a "Family"...This is how it was when I left ....HOPEFULLY things have gotten better but wasn't looking good at the time in 2010. At that time they had gotten rid of all the BellSouth top managers or they were on their way out the door...those managers/senior Management were GREAT and so they had to go! :(

    Advice to Management

Care for employees and customers as if they are your own family.....A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.
