I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

BIG, with lots of variety of jobs.

    Cons

BIG, sometimes it's hard to be noticed within a big company you have to be an extraordinary standout to be promoted, there is lots of competition.

    Advice to Management

Heed the advice and direction of senior managers, they see the big picture six layers up.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation, at&t is loaded with problems of workplace discrimination and favoritism but few speak out because they don’t want to jeapordize their paycheck

    Cons

Culture of intimidation, favoritism, lack of accountability and horrible customer account handling disguised by complicated policies to divert customers from challenging the problems this company internally created from contracting many vital aspects of the business.

    Advice to Management

With the trend of social media, streaming and sharing I anticipate media giants like at&t will take the biggest crash in their history. Your culture and treatment of employees creates annual strikes that former employees like myself had to train for if we ever had to be deployed to an area with active strikes. I think the fact that a percentage of your labor actively threatens to strike almost every year should be obvious to you executives that your culture is completely toxic. I have never been more satisfied to know that I quit at&t and work for a major corporation that is unlike at&t and a better place to work for all the right reasons. AT&T take your quasi government approach to running your business and shove it.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, great benefits, [some] interesting products

    Cons

Lying to customers to make a penny, managers micromanage the heck outta you, constantly have to go against your morals and long work days that when you come back home at the end of the night, you are mentally drained in every respect. Pay used to be much better but because it is mainly commission based the company can mess with it as much as they want.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging your top dogs. Enough with the empty threats that we can be replaced at any moment because we aren't selling the lesser products that no one wants such as your home services when the competition is killing us on that element.

    Pros

Worldwide telecommunicator, the original telecommunicator for communication around the world

    Cons

AT&T has become a telemarketer who does not care about its employees or customers it's all about sales sales sales and they are sales that are unethical very sad I don't see a future in this company I tell all young people do not apply their move on and get a real career or real job because AT&T is a telemarketer

    Advice to Management

Stop being a telemarketer and treat your employees as professional and care about them if you care for your employees you definitely care for your customers

    Pros

Health, vision and dental Benefits, 401k match

    Cons

Employment can be volatile. Even if you are a good employee there is no security

    Advice to Management

Take the blinders off. There is little opportunity for upward movement and many loyal and strong employees are lost

    Pros

    Cons

Quotas constantly increase, more overtime increases, coaches are not the most willing to help you if you need help or have a question.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to help people and coach not just be a disciplinarian.

    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - They have options to help you continue your studies
    - It's relatively easily to change schedules with other employees
    - Most customers are pretty easy to talk to, for the most part

    Cons

    - Constant change with no through training on bigger changes until months after things happen
    - This might be more to the Miami location but rather childish environment.
    - Focus on things that don't necessarily have to do with your stats, always a new flavor of the month
    - I don't understand their schedule changes sometimes, it's like they don't actually verify how the call flow will change and under-staff at certain hours

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees in the loop and actually listen to them.
