I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

BIG, with lots of variety of jobs.

    Cons

BIG, sometimes it's hard to be noticed within a big company you have to be an extraordinary standout to be promoted, there is lots of competition.

    Advice to Management

Heed the advice and direction of senior managers, they see the big picture six layers up.

    Pros

The base salary is very decent compared to a lot of places in south Florida, good commission , health insurance and discounts !

    Cons

I’m gonna be honest based on my experience , first of all don’t think this is an easy sales role , you have to work like a slave to make at least $2,000 in commission every month , you don’t just do sales , you have to deal with customer service calls and offer them different services , your supervisor will probably fire you if you don’t offer on every single call even if your customer is not willing to buy because 90% of calls people are calling to complain about their bills, as matter of fact the training is so poor , they train you so much in sales but they never teach you how to solve customer’s issues , you have to go through different systems that they don’t even show you how to use it , it’s very depressing knowing that you can’t give your best of ability because At&t doesn’t give you the right training to be successful !

    Advice to Management

At&t should have a different department for customer service and sales , that way you can generate more revenue to your company and better customer experience, Treat your employees like professionals and provide support instead of making them feel like they don’t fit for the position and stop routing sales calls to only a few agents because it’s very unfair to give best calls to only a few agents , people are coming to work and make money to support their families !

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great Benefits
Management is Flexible with PTO policy
Decent base salary and bonus structure

    Cons

Annual salary treatment (raises) is typically low.
Like many other companies, we are downsizing individual contributors and being expected to do more with less.
Opportunities to Advance are few and far between.

    Advice to Management

    Stop reducing headcount!

    Cons

Too cutthroat and petty and management is the 1st to be in the mix of gossip.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be fair and have more compassion towards the ppl that can't meet your sales goals.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation, at&t is loaded with problems of workplace discrimination and favoritism but few speak out because they don’t want to jeapordize their paycheck

    Cons

Culture of intimidation, favoritism, lack of accountability and horrible customer account handling disguised by complicated policies to divert customers from challenging the problems this company internally created from contracting many vital aspects of the business.

    Advice to Management

With the trend of social media, streaming and sharing I anticipate media giants like at&t will take the biggest crash in their history. Your culture and treatment of employees creates annual strikes that former employees like myself had to train for if we ever had to be deployed to an area with active strikes. I think the fact that a percentage of your labor actively threatens to strike almost every year should be obvious to you executives that your culture is completely toxic. I have never been more satisfied to know that I quit at&t and work for a major corporation that is unlike at&t and a better place to work for all the right reasons. AT&T take your quasi government approach to running your business and shove it.
