I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is great for not needing a degree, or much experience at all since their training process goes a long way. Great opportunities to move up.

    Cons

Hours are based on seniority, so for the first couple of years say goodbye to your nights and weekends.

This is the second job I've gotten through IG in the last two years. The first was a 6-month gig in Wilton, CT, and this is a longer-term job with AT&T in Merden, CT..

    Cons

None so far - I'd like a higher rate, though.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are unbelievably good for very little money per year. Vacation is about 3 weeks a year and the company pays for college degree up to and including PhD. Retail employees are unionized

    Cons

The company claims to care about employees but does nothing to help balance work/life situations. It always feels like you are working under a glass jar with people watching. Managers seem to all have ego issues, just waiting to write people up at any opportunity even made up opportunities. They promote people who have no business being managers simply because they are friends with upper management. Company continues to decrease pay while increasing work load at the same time telling employees the opportunities are the same. When employees complain, answers are condescending at best "the golden age of phone sales is over" or "you have the ability to make the same." Top country rep's salaries are going down 20K every year. When selling 160% of goal would pay you at 250% of goal, and now pays only 160% with higher goals, that is not the same opportunity.

Then management wonders why they have reps who are shady and lie to get a the sale.

    Advice to Management

Companies like google and star bucks have proven that if employees are happy they work harder. But all AT&T seems to care about is the bottom dollar at the end of the quarter for their shareholders. Paying people for the job they do fairly, year to year, makes people happy. Treating people like they matter also helps greatly.
